Everything about this article is either intentionally misleading or just stupid.

exactly. all the tariffs did was make it more expensive to obtain the cheaper parts our manufacturers use to make more advanced, expensive products and make our companies less competitive globally price-wise. Exports are down.

ACA is proof that the government generally makes things worse when they get involved. People worried about tariffs increasing their COL, but I bet they vote for people who won't get the government out of insurance.

I dont think the baws realize that half of their jacked up truck comes from abroad, even if assembled in the USA.

They think buying "American" solves everything, but its assembled here, not necessarily produced here.

Really? I mean I guess some folks could have the idea that all parts of their "jacked up trucks" were sourced in the US but something tell me that most people understand that we import a lot of stuff and those over 20 probably are aware of how NAFTA morphed into a global trade shite show.

Smug prog takes on "jacked up trucks" are going to be what keeps the GOP in power for a long time.

You are smug, for sure.

And obviously a prog.

These baws have no idea that half their vehicle is imported. They are clueless

Next your smugness will be telling folks they don't understand their own interest and are voting against it.

BTW, the manufacturing we outsourced overseas was not minimum wage jobs they were solid middle class jobs. Something tells me you have not really ever worked outside of the service sector.

Tariffs help people with no skills or education, if the goal is to return low paying assembly line jobs.

So if this is your interest, ...youre voting for it.

maybe in the 1950s before other countries had the infrastructure or were capable of doing those jobs.

you can't expect global technological advancements to not have an impact on competition.

you have to innovate and move on.

The good news is that a toy factory just opened in Bogalusa.

Naah. The Chinese just kept making the toys and jacked up the price to pay the tariffs.

IMHO, Black Friday hasn’t been the same since Covid anyway. Everything moved from in store to online and spread over time.

This article is dookie. Expecting more shoppers than last year, spending to top $1 trillion for first time ever. One interviewee is reducing spending to target specific deals rather than generic Black Friday deals. Another says she'll reduce spending because her Obama premiums are going way up (which the GOP warned it would do a decade ago). But, muh, tariffs are ruining Christmas! Get out of here with this tripe. Typical salacious headline that isn't backed up in the actual article. Media understands that people simply read headlines now.
