Problem with this is there are biological females born without ovaries. Still have all the parts.
I know people don't like to hear this, but intersex exists. This isn't the same as your 11 year old female wanting to act like a boy so you pump them with hormones.

The success rate for treating children with gender dysphoria was something like 90 percent when you discourage the anti birth gender behavior.
The problem is leftists who believe sex is a social construct hated that and got the practice virtually outlawed by psychiatric professionals.

This is a drop in the bucket of trans issues and arguments. Intersex arguments on the trans topics are akin to rape/incest arguments in abortion.

That’s not what this issue is about, but even in people with ambiguous sex organs , almost all are “mostly” one and look and act like that sex.
ETA:
So within an incredibly tiny population a tiny portion are ambiguous.

Well my response was more to the, doesn't have ovaries, can't be a woman.
Or you can have swyers syndrome and be XY and not develop male parts and still have external female genetalia.

This is not science fiction or hentai comics. You can't transform sexes. You can think you can in your mind and get some surgery to look closer to the other sex, but no biological man actually became a woman. Just like no biological woman became a man.
But law school is probably teaching something else. Supreme Court went against decades of defining the term sex in a federal law as biological sex (sex was used instead of gender specifically to stick with biology versus gender) to include trans and also went ahead and threw in sexuality (specifically homosexuality) to also be included reasoning its also about sex the act.
I figured they would continue with 14th amendment loophole and invent some new right, but they decided to again take over for Congress and rewrite a law.
The person who wrote opinion was the surprise. He tried hard to limit decision saying this doesn't affect other issues still in process of making it to court which just made it more of a cluster since he redefined the term not create a new right through loophole that has to be weighed against existing rights. Scalia would have written a great dissent in response to the opinion written by his protege.
Not that it would pass house or even Senate with too many Rhinos scared about bad press, but I would love it if Congress had some balls to push back against courts legislating and pass a law reemphasizing that the term sex in law back then and today is biological sex and to leave legislating to Congress.

Okay, just offering anecdotal evidence based on my own experiences within the trans community. As a Gen-X’r, many of us didn’t come out until later in life when it was safer. Many younger people nowadays feel it’s easier to be themselves and that society has become more accepting in order to do so. Combine that, with less gatekeeping in the medica/psych community, your numbers are higher compared with decades ago.
