The topic for today is REVENGE. Have you had yours?

I have generally sought to eschew this rather base human instinct. I have sought to turn the other cheek, and with one notable exception (a former boss), have succeeded. I have allowed many to harm me, and I have done nothing to them in return. I have consistently chosen to walk away from people who have served me up a steaming shite sandwich. I'm not talking about little things, or school yard fights,or some guy who was rude in a bar, I'm talking about real-life adult situations that were very important to you, in more than "just the moment".
Have you sought revenge? If so, did it satiate your sense of injustice? Was it proportional? Did it feel good to even the scales? Did you regret it? Do you look back on it with satisfaction?
*Asking for a friend while cleaning my gun.

During my time in monte cristo I concocted the ultimate revenge.
As in, the waiter at bennigans gave me house chips when I clearly asked for fries. I left a bad tip, but it did not give me the retribution I so sincerely desired.

Brought recordings of an old boss committing serious HR violations to HR after years of verbal abuse. It felt good to hear he was fired.

The best revenge is good living.
I like people, but I refuse to let a single person ruin a day waking up above the ground.

That's the truest phrase ever uttered about the topic. I say it all the time.

Tony Soprano: You know what they say: Revenge is like serving cold cuts.

The best revenge is when it's just plain truth.
No deceit, no lies, just fricking someone over with the truth

I've still got grudges from kindergarten.

I tell myself that the anger I have is my problem and not the person I want revenge on. But instead of suppressing my anger, I use it to fuel my days working. I always have a chip on my shoulder and it generally doesn't make me the most likable person to work with if you're a lazy frick.

My twenty year old story also involves work recordings. I was the fourth highest performing sales rep out of 50. This was in Denver. I was asked to train a new rep because I was "the man". She was a perfect ten. Beyond perfect looking. I trained her as requested over an entire week. She rode with me. I introduced her to all my clients. I gave her all my tips and tricks.
I then got married and went on my honeymoon. Like the next week. When I returned I was told I was on probation for not visiting clients. I was utterly confused. I thought I was a superstar. My buddy Mike comes over and tells me that my bosses boss is boinking this chick and is grooming her for my position. Sure enough, every day the pressure gets turned up on me, she lives in my territory, and it's obvious what's about to happen. This is my livelihood and I just got married.
I'm pissed now. So I quickly secured a job with a competitor. On a lark, I attempted to log in to this guy's company voice mail. Sure enough, his voice mail number (say 3131) and his password were the same. Dumb arse.
So I listened to his messages. Sure enough, there were a bunch of back and forth messages between him and the girl, one with explicit sex talk. On the day I left I forwarded this voice mail to every single employee of the company. A company wide voice mail of her talking dirty to him.
It felt good. He got in a shitload of trouble. The chick had to leave the company before she really started. All my coworkers called me at home howling with laughter giving me "attaboys".
But he was married and had kids. And then it felt bad. Real bad.
Never since.

Tell your friend that a ski mask, baseball bat and a cold dark night work wonders.

Yeah, I was young and impulsive. I should have taken the hit. I'm not sure if I blew his life up or not, but regardless I should have played it differently and with an eye on unintended consequences.

No, I completely get what you did and why you did it. I'd be flat out lying if I said I wouldn't have done the same being in that situation and having that inside information. Because like you said, that's your livelihood. Your boss would have gotten caught cheating eventually. It never ceases to amaze me at what a man will do for a piece of arse.
