So you've got a good network. Many of us do. Like I said earlier in the thread - if you're sociable and likable, a fraternity is unnecessary.

If you're introverted or have trouble making friends, a fraternity offers a great springboard.

No . It was one of many, many factors I mentioned. You isolated it to make a non- supportable point, ignoring every other comment I have made on this point. You can, and should, do better.

The fact is that I've asked the same question about the existence of the Greek system and it's long term viability on here before . It's an Institution under constant attack . At LSU they have been dropping like flies whereas it used to be the rarest occurrence.

Do you have actual examples of the things you are predicting, or is this just a theory?

You are giving too much thought to this.

It's been coming under attack by contingents that weren't around before Greek establishment and won't have any noted influence going forward.

My fraternity gets bounced off or threatened with being bounced off constantly. Sigma Chinis gone, right? The most prominent and connected fraternity in the history of LSU . The numbers nationwide are stunning . They are in constant opposition with college administrators.

This against the first 100 years of fraternity life- when they were inseparable from administration. I remember Bud Richey and LSU deans having cocktails with us . It's just a complete 180 in attitude towards fraternities. And that's even before all the cultural PC stuff .

excellent point, if you take care of your business, hopefully you never have to call in those markers, but they are there, and meanwhile, you've got all of these great friends that you bought a long time ago, to hang out with, and they're still pretty cool guys

Well said. We all got along then. The post-war culture was fairly unified.

Too bad PC society can't look past their own noses to see what it is like to get along with other people. They find tremendous fault with how it was working before. All I know is I know people like myself who go behind the counter and hug the black cook for the great lunch they cooked today, pat them on the back, share a good laugh, and give a God-blessing to them and their families.
