Same thing as everybody else. If you get an MIP that's on you. I got one, woke my arse up early on a Saturday morning for the class and paid a couple hundred bucks. Wasn't the end of the world. My parents chewed my arse out and I went to the bar later that night.

Serious question, because my sons dorm has random searches constantly and gallons of booze is confiscated each time.
You can literally throw a t-shirt over it. They aren't allowed to move anything so as long as it's not sitting right in the open it's fine.

What to the younger guys do now. Drink in the house and watch games on tv so they don't get a MIP? Serious

As a old fraternity guy myself I just want some opinions . I'm kind of personally critiquing it from within, more than making some definitive general statement.
I think I'm a real anomaly- the 1980s 4 year member, Frat officer of a large chapter who thinks it's more negative than positive. The fraternity ethic and my personal ethic aren't in alignment. But still, I have real love for my Bros from that time- some are like family.
I think that many old Fratstars saddle their kids with tales of Fraternity glory , not realizing that it has all changed to the point that it's unrecognizable. It's not a time where kids can make big mistakes and just walk away like we did. It's like a minefield.

Agreed
If you could read the posts by the moms of these girls on the parents Facebook page for LSU, you would see that this is extremely important to them.

If this freeze goes longer then 2-3 weeks, I think Alexander will get some pressure from big money alumni to lift the freeze.
It won't last much longer than that. LSU really just wants this to die down some. Can you imagine if the news got some video of Greeks partying and getting wrecked this weekend? Much less if another fraternity had someone else get injured/killed in some hazing incident? Not that the latter is likely, but that's a hell of a downside risk to take on regardless.

The guy that was posting in the Poli Board crying about Trump.
Coward.

My parents weren't Greek (or particularly wealthy
) so being Greek was never a huge deal to me. Just something I did because some friends from HS were actives. However, it's a big deal to some rich folks. Especially sororities. I can see some donations being withheld if this freeze lasts longer

You're talking about thousands of success stories versus a handful of negative ones.
If that's the case, stop leaving your house because you might die in a car wreck.

Lol at this thread.
Don't let your kid play the popular sport in middle school or Hs, or let your daughter be a cheerleader. Let's not let your kids do anything that is looked up upon.
I mean hell, wearing nice dresses and polo shirts, a suit and a tie in college? Good golly guys, no way in hell I'd want my kid doing that!
I don't care what my kid does, as long as they want to do it and they are passionate about it.

I'm not triggered. I'm sad to see a kid died today because of bad decisions.
You are triggered one posting stupid memes because you couldn't be accepted into a frat.
Go drink your bud heavy tall boys while you sink into your miserable existence before you go back to your farm job in the morning.

You have a hardcore victim complex. Which is ironic because frat boys will tend (but not always) to be one of the more advantaged groups of people on campus. If you or your family can afford college tuition and for you to pay to be in a social club then you have no business bitching as much as you are.

Puts a practical limit on how long this will last, despite me too not understanding why it matters so much.
