The California edition Tesla's are sold with built in the seat butt plugs.

Every Tesla sold is getting up to a $7500 federal tax credit, coupled with the Treasury's recent sale of 400b in bonds which was the highest ever we end up with a US debt downgrade watch and 1t in interest payments.

I have no problem with EVs and think they fit as part of the overall transportation system.
The problem I have is they are being forced and incentivized through credits that we are all having to pay for.

The US can't afford it and it is bad policy.

Great. Surely this won't cause any problems for California electrical grid.

Are they buying power from Enron again?

So in a state with an overloaded electrical grid, they keep buying things to bog it down more. What could go wrong.

They have already proven that they will tell folks to only charge their E-vehicles to half, and turn their A/C's off. They are quite aware that pushing this agenda overexerts their ability.

Maybe they can run the A/C in their homes and push their Tesla to work.

You realize EV owners pay for electricity just like everyone else and that the money you pay for electricity goes to a business that sells electricity and they can use that additional money to produce and deliver more electricity, right?

That is one heck of a sentence.

A gallon of gas in California is $6. I’d buy an EV if I was them too.

Not sure why this triggers so many southern rednecks.

Exactly. I spent a week in the Bay Area recently and there were far more Teslas than any other model on the road.
Shame on these people for not having to buy $5.00/gal gas!

We are considering a Tesla for my wife's next vehicle. Affordable car, high tech, and no fuel expenses? Who the frick doesn't want that?

BTW, during my time in San Fran I went a whole week and didn't see any shite on the street! My kids got to see a world class city, eat some great food, and enjoy 65 degree weather in July.

But don't tell the OT that.

So the rolling blackouts were occurring because because people weren’t paying their bills and not due to a lack of capacity?

You realize that requires additional power generation in the form of gas, coal, nuclear, etc and cost billions right? And with California regs is almost impossible

In a red state? Yup.

In California? A state where they almost just shut down their last nuclear plant because of activist pressure? Who has moratoriums to block any new gas fired, coal fired, or nuclear power plants? Whose actual power generation capability is dropping?

Who is banking on wind and solar to power all of these new EV’s and generate power to keep up with current and future demands?

Ehhhhhh.. nope.

You see that big brown splotch there? That’s nat gas. Guess what California wants to do with nat gas fired anything? You only need one guess if you are honest.

See that booger green splotch? That’s wind. One of the big two things that is supposed to replace that brown splotch. How much more capacity has it generated than a decade ago? Doesn’t appear to be that much does it? How fast is solar increasing? Fast enough?

See that teal colored line at the bottom? That’s what environmental whackos want gone in 2-3 years. And that’s equal to almost the entire photo voltaic solar generation of the entire state. They would have to double that PV solar immediately just to stay at current level. How much has it grown in the past decade? That fast?

How is California offsetting the lack of gas tax?

Estimate ls they lost $30 billion in fuel taxes.

They have a mileage tax in the works. An early version was vetoed.

3 states already do this.

They get your information when you charge.

Also, low-income rates and other similar measures will be pushed for.

So many people in here scared that one day they won’t get to put $5.00/gal diesel in their F250 on their 80 mile daily commute.
