Damn sad. One time he rightfully told my wife that a repair was not worth the value of her vehicle. A good, honest guy.

Stay out the way of moving vehicles. Simple as that.

RIP. Sound like the kind of person who actually made the world a better place before he left.

Great man, major bummer. Im very close with his 2 grandsons that have worked the business for a long time. His son (their dad & another great man) was also involved in a fatal wreck around 10 years ago. Just unfortunate circumstances, but he lived a full life and is a local legend

Yes I’m sure after 88 years on this earth, today was the day he decided to find out if he was invincible and take on a moving vehicle. Idiot

Dang, an acquaintance of mine was just rambling about how a friend of his killed checking his mail this morning. I didn’t really pay all that much attention to him to be honest.

Of course “Get Gordon” ads are all over the article.
Even with his big flag with Bible verses, Gordon isn’t even in the same galaxy as Mr Bill Simon.

What a sad day.

Damn. I didn't know the guy but if you grew up in the Baton Rouge area you sure knew who he was. It sucks that his life ended like this.

think that section of Gurney road has mailboxes only on one side of the street.

You are correct. I grew up in Willowwood acres . Mr Bill would let me fish in his pond when I was growing up. He was always nice and would come talk we were fishing.

Another old school BR character bites the dust. Just an awful way to go for someone who genuinely tried to do right by others.

Probably someone speeding and looking at their damn phone.

I use to call on Mr Simon when I was in parts sales. Always treated me with respect. Great guy.

I’ve seen a lot of people get their mail on Highland Road with cars going by at 50+. Dumb

Dang, that sucks. Passed the Gurney/Joor intersection midday, and I saw the EBRSO had it blocked off with emergency lights in the distance. Figured it was a regular car crash. No idea it would be something like this.
