Owner is a 1st class douche. Can't believe he is still in business. He had a location over here in Alabama and he closed it up in the middle of the night stiffing the workers out of their pay and benefits. Also hadn't paid any of the vendors in months. It was also rumored he lit one of his restaurants on fire for insurance purposes a few years ago. Not sure if that was ever proven but it came at time he was having lots of financial difficulties. He is a real piece of shite and his food is mediocre at best.

food board has this up already as well is the subsequent complaining of crappy BBQ options in BR.
Then it must be good. That board is full of the most uppity food snobbin' twats on the TD domain.

It’s not terrible. There are better places, but it’s not the worst BBQ.

Then he'll fit in perfectly with the current owners of The Oasis who delayed paying their staff for nearly 2 months back in 2019

Took the family there after years of hearing the hype. Food was mediocre at best.

So, in a nutshell, John Delgado.

Absolutely horrible management.

Sad to hear
The shed holds a special place for me.
Stopping on that exit. Eating hot BBQ on a chilly overcast winter afternoon driving from home back to school. Hit the coke machine for a refill and sip on that for the remainder of my drive while still dreaming about those ribs and not a care in the world excited for classes to start again.

The shed is just ok. There’s a place in Gulfport called murky waters or something like that, I think, that had REALLY good bbq the one time I went there.

Fun Fact: They had one in Scott, LA probably about ~12 years ago or so, it made it about a year before closing.
They had one in Saucier and Hattiesburg that didn’t make it.

I disagree. I trust the F&D board immensely, and they've never let me down when it comes to recommendations.
Most of those people know how to throw down in the kitchen and are really into food, so understandably, they're going to detect poor quality more than your average person who doesn't know anything about food/cooking.
A decent segment of our population defines pulled pork as placing it into a crockpot and stirring in a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's. Of course the people who are familiar with actual quality BBQ are going to sound snobby next to them

I have never been to a place that the food board praised across the board and not been impressed. On the flip side, there are a handful of restaurants which they mostly panned that I enjoy. I don't trust their recommendations like the gospel, but it's not a bad resource for South Louisiana.

BBQ restaurants are usually trash. I cook much better pulled pork and most of the time ribs... Sometimes I'll drink a bit too much not get my fire proper and over cook ribs. My BBQ chicken is always on point whole or pieced out. Cold smoked salmon once and it was da bomb as was the Edam cheese I also cold smoked. My smoked turkey is the bomb... Guess all I've really screwed up is ribs and that was just this one time back in October maybe. Not sure what happened think it got really windy and I forgot to check on them and the smoker burned hot.
