This is pretty crazy. Did they just not test them enough? Cut corners?

Is Samsung dead as a company after this?

2 so far from my research.

i read an article on the cooling system on these samsungs

pretty wild

LINK

quote:

nterestingly, JerryRigEverything cut through the liquid cooling pipe, revealing that it contains no visible liquid. It’s more of a heat pipe that simply removes the residual heat. The heat pipe on the Galaxy S7 edge is similar to the one found in the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL rather than the Xperia Z5 Premium. Inside the heat pipe there’s copper wire that should help with heat dissipation (image above). Without liquid inside, even if it’s cut, the heat pipe should still work as long as you cover it back up with the sticker that lies on top of it and then add all the other parts back in.

It's ok for cell phones to cause cancerous brain tumors, but start a little fire and they can't get them off the shelves fast enough.

If you talk on the phone enough to get a tumor, you deserve cancer.

never thought of that angle. Very possible.

Someone paid by Google with a sabotaged Samsung phone.

The headset jack on the Google Pixel, S7, etc etc would like to say hello to a bagillion years worth of headphones on the market and in your home

I used to be the same way. Stayed with that opinion for about 6 months after getting first iPhone , but I finally changed my mind and now won't own anything but iPhones. The so has had all android devices and they just don't compare to the iPhones. Seriously.

well some of them 100% do compare and are even superior in some aspects. Android devices is an extremely broad term so it's hard to know which devices you are talking about in particular.

the last time I got hyped up for a new phone maker I ended up with a Fire phone. The time before that it was a Windows phone.

I may have to wait until the second generation comes out first.

(I really wanted the s7ACTIVE)

Just got my second Note 7 after the first recall and loving it. Best phone in the world minus the fire thing. Sad.

Here’s what a smoking Galaxy Note 7 looks like

quote:

The Associated Press has video of Dee Decasa’s phone catching fire in her Honolulu home Sunday morning — this is the sixth reported replacement Note 7 to catch fire in the US, if you’re keeping track. In the video, you can see a clearly alarmed Decasa carry a smoking phone into the kitchen and place it down, before apparently fainting.
