LINK

This is the carrier that had to be followed around by a tugboat while on deployment in case the engines failed.

Now the drydock holding the carrier suddenly sank and the Russians simply don't have the capability to raise it.

Don’t they have some political prisoners they can throw into the furnace to build the steam up?

Every time I think of the Russian Navy I think about this obscure movie I saw on TV about some Russian satellite ship that goes dark and when they discover it the crew has somehow turned into mutant human robots.

My all-time favorite movie quote that is almost never applicable in any situation ... unless you're trading morse code with an enemy sub.

Bigger frickup by a super power Navy recently:

The US Navy having multiple collisions at sea with commercial vessels.

Or...

The Russians sinking their one and only shitty aircraft carrier.

At first call, I give the edge to the Russians, as that is an obviously tremendous frickup.

But the fact that they really don’t need an aircraft carrier makes it a little less of a frickup.

So, I guess the fact that the most powerful Navy in existence can’t seem to steer their boats properly... I think we win again.

The United States Navy has more carriers than all of the world’s other navies combined. Even as bad as some of our military equipment is getting we still have higher ready rates than our adversaries.
