Made in China. I actually saw it in Dalian while they were building it. I knew then that it would never be a threat. The Chinese can't build anything unless it's simple or they copy it from someone.

They are actually looking at in some areas changing the education platforms to mirror what the US did in the 50s and 60s. They want to see if getting away from the memorizing bullshite and into a creative learning would boost their ability to invent and not just reproduce.

Arghhhh this kind of crap, plus a very low birth rate, was why I was so pissed when obama let them do whatever they wanted over in that area.

Nah. That one is this one’s sister. It was made in the USSR too. Then left to rust. A Chinese admiral bought it from the Ukrainians with his own money through a shell company. The story of getting it to China is hilarious. An epic shite show. When you saw it, it was being repaired and finished out. It’s since had problems with its steam power system (not nuclear - steam - like the Titanic) and proven to be unreliable late Soviet junk, just like its sister.

It's a legitimate carrier but I wouldn't call it a supercarrier. The Charles de Gaulle is the only non-US carrier with a catapult and so can operate F-18's and the like.
But it is around half the size of a US supercarrier, carries about half the number of aircraft, etc.
