I think those people are clueless as well. Im not saying that we should be going to war over this... just want people who believe the same things I do, to hold firm in them and to teach our children and grand children the truth about life. I think we also should be doing more by serving our communities and trying to bring that truth to people who live in our communities.

Amen. Get off the web and go experience life. Some people are looking for a positive interaction.

How can you see just the murder and assassination in the last week and say that evil is not running rampant in our world? I just dont understand... because yall sound very close to the people who say we shouldn't worry about the Charlotte murder because its "statistically rare".

It's not even so much about the events themselves, there have always been crazy people that killed innocent folks.

The reactions have been more telling.

What kind of country do we live in where people on a bus will just watch someone be stabbed and the majority of them not even offer any type of assistance?

What kind of country do we live in when thousands of our own friends and neighbors will openly celebrate the death of a man who espoused Christian values?

Sure, as someone said, they aren't going to tell you these things in real life (probably), but this event has given us a window into the real thoughts of those who live and work around us every day, and it's a very dark place.

I had people in the real world feel comfortable laughing it up about his murder in a work meeting yesterday. They are showing us who they are.

What kind of lives do some of yall live where you’re constantly encountering “opponents” on the other side?

The rest of us simply move about and associate with people of all kinds of political beliefs and nobody gives a shite. I got good friends whose politics I think are stupid (as aim sure they do mine) and we literally never argue about it outside some good natured ribbing. I also know some total assholes who prob vote just the way I do.

In other words, I’m a normal person just like most everyone else you meet outside

Too many people would rather go through life with blinders on and walk off a cliff than admit what is really going on and have to face it.

The allegory of the Cave is very relevant here.

I love how the same people that rally against evil "left indoctrination" think the solution is to indoctrinate their Christian beliefs and not see the hypocrisy in that at all.

Yeah let's just throw half the country in a bucket and vilify them because they don't share the same political beliefs I do. Nothing could go wrong there.

A lot of the reason we are here is because we left God.

I don't believe everyone should be "forced" into Christian beliefs but becoming better people morally would help, and I mean having actual better morals, not virtue signaling.

Jesus christ. Quit spending so much time on the internet and go talk to people. The world isn't as scary as people have made you think.

Just this week a woman was murdered in cold blood for no reason while taking public transportation on her way home and now a prominent conservative figure was assassinated.

Maybe today isn’t the day to preach society isn’t as corrupted as it seems

^^^^^^^^

Pay attention to this up there.

This is how we got to this place. Just don't worry about it if it doesn't affect you personally.

All that has to happen for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing.

Half the country is already in a bucket which contains them being called Nazi's and fascists for having different beliefs than the other half.

Maybe the right should stop caring about hypocrisy. The left doesn't go around asking "well if we do this, we can't argue they do _____."

They unapologetically prefer their ideology and want you to be brought to heel on it.

Exactly. The time is here to stand up consistently for what is good and right. Because this will embolden the evil in our world and make it stronger. We cannot stand by and not work tirelessly in our families and communities to make sure people are on the side of good and not evil.

Is it? I'm Buddhist, it's an agnostic religion. Do you really want to declare Buddhism as an immoral religion because they don't worship a God.

Morality is not the possession of any religion or reliant on the existence of a deity. Empathy and kindness should be a baseline for us all regardless of our religious and political beliefs.

How is that different from calling the other side evil communists and Godless scum at every opportunity. Maybe we should stop throwing whataboutisms and broad strokes around, and work on getting back to just being a decent society in general.

Have you ever heard a republican leader or specifically trump call every democrat a communist or Godless scum?
