The low death rates are actually why it's so pervasive.

And it doesn't need to, because it just isn't that risky. And your best bet is to get it now, when the weather is good and you're most active. You will experience a milder illness, if you get it now.

What’s so bad about where Florida is today? Their cases appear to have peaked, and their hospitals are no where near overwhelmed. This is exactly what every state should be striving for. Looks to me like Florida is nailing it. My only criticism is that they shut down too quickly the first time, otherwise they could have gotten this over with in May.

I have a home in the panhandle and 2 rental properties. It’s refreshing coming here and not having all the lunatics Karen’s.....although we had a few local Karen’s early on.
With that said, most of Florida’s cases are coming from south Florida where the beaches have been closed for weeks, so frick off with the beach crowd causing this .

Leaving Wednesday and myself and the family are going to enjoy the hell out of it. It's actually the 2nd trip to the beach this summer. Oh, I know right? How did we all survive?

It's not 10-14 days. Its closer to 5 days. 99% of people show symptoms within 11.5 days of exposure.

People are also in the water despite the beaches being at double red flag due to Hanna - so perhaps there will be less tourists tomorrow.
Talked to the lifeguards yesterday. They'd been patrolling for hours, trying to whistle people out of the gulf. They said it was going to take a rescue for the tourists to comply.
On the last double red flag in Walton county, there were 43 rescues. Can't fix stupid.

Right so is “Florida” to blame or the folks from surrounding states going to an otherwise pretty lightly populated area of Florida when you remove those vacationing there?

You’re not wrong about its pervasiveness, but I don’t necessarily think we’re all doomed to catch it, especially when a vaccine comes out. I live in Jefferson Parish and haven’t caught it yet (unless I caught it in early February which was the worst cough and sinus infection I’ve ever had in my life).
