It’s the drought out west that’s cranking the heat up. Some people laugh at the thought of “climate refugees” but that is actually happening with Cali transplants fleeing east due to fires, drought, crazy heat waves.

Not to mention ridiculously high taxes, stifling regulations on business, and allowing lawless behavior to be tolerated, if not encouraged.

The smart folks will study how to build a redneck AC with an ice chest pvc, small fan, and ice. Problem solved.

The smart folks already have an AC.

fires

Not new to California by any standard. It is a historic problem, as in fires have been documented there for as long as written records exist.

drought

Again, not new. Native tribes were dealing with that before there ever was a California.

Crazy heat waves

Records have fallen, some dating back to the 40s, 50s, 60s. They aren't being destroyed by double digits, and aren't really that much worse than past heat waves.

Has it actually stopped snowing/raining with this ridge up your way?

Yesterday morning here. It got up to 78 today, I believe.

Yep, at sea level we didn't get very much until mid January, and then it snowed for two months.

Not an air conditioner to be found up there either.
I lived on McChord Field from 2010- 2013. One year we experienced a similar heat wave with no AC. Miserable ASF! After privatization, all bases housing have AC.

Summer of 2010….I remember.

Woman I was with refused to buy an AC, so I went to my place and sent her pics of the temp inside my place….

She caved after her 2nd night of no sleep.

No you didn't. This weekend was the first time in recorded history that we had consecutive days of 100+ degree temperatures.

First place I ever lived without residential AC. That was even more of a shock than learning that basements aren’t just a thing on TV. They are no doubt regretting their heathen ways.

It's going to get worse tomorrow.

High of 112, low of 60.

Tuesday it is a high of 88 then it doesn't go above 83 the rest of the summer.

I've got 2 window AC's for sale.....

Your sanity will cost you 500 bucks.

I ordered one earlier today. Won't be here for a couple of weeks though since they are sold out everywhere. I had one, but gave it to a family member last year since I hadn't used it for 3 years. I'm regretting that now.

Insane temps out West. Stay safe guys. Remember, hotels (with AC!) do exist if you need refuge from the heat

94 in Anacortes. I've never seen temps that high up in the San Juans that's impressive.

My mom's lifelong best friend lives in eastern B.C.,(Golden) about 30 miles from the Alberta border, and it hit 100 up there yesterday, 102 today, 105 tomorrow and Wednesday, 103 Thursday. It will drop to 95 on Friday and stay in the 90's through next Monday.

And this is a town that is 1/2 mile above sea level(2,600 ft.). Jesus Christ!
