I spent last summer in Houston fresh off a breakup and got spoiled

You can go out on dates with professional,
educated girls pretty much every day of the week over there. New Orleans isn’t quite as good but a good bit better than BR.

f you are reasonably well-off, and take care of yourself, you can pull women 8-10 years younger than you.

I agree. If you are 30-35 have a good job decent credit and hit the gym a couple times a week, the 23-27 single, no kids, loves to hike type is your goal.

I just figure if it happens, it happens. Needs to be organic anyway. At this point, I’m not going to get married just because a lot of my friends are and it’s what people do....bonus is I have a lot of opportunities to work overseas coming up and it’s a lot easier to do so single. No one wants to get Jody’d

I spent a week in Phoenix and a week in Houston earlier in the year and racked up on Hinge/Bumble. Lots of mid-upper 20s quality women. La sucks in that regard

Damn. This makes sense, but I’m glad the reverse doesn’t seem to be true (unrelated female with the father).

depends on a lot of factors. If your (as a man’s) kids are still little and hers are older, maternal instinct can kick in and she can learn to love them, Von Trapp style. Sweet little ones have that effect.

But if she doesn’t have her own then you might deal with the wicked stepmother syndrome, where your kids are a burden and an obstacle to her happiness and your affection.

The tropes from fairytales (the real
Ones) are there for a reason.

There are studies that show that grandmothers show more affection to offspring of her female children than to those of the males, because at least she KNOWS, (in a biological place) that those children carry her genetic line.

She doesn’t KNOW that with the children of her son.

There are so many biological things that affect us and our relationships than we realize.

Dating fricking sucks because women (as a rule) these days are fricking stupid.

Yes, td ladies, I am certain there are stupid fricking men too. But I don't date men, I date women. So, I only care that most women are fricking stupid.

I finally met one that had sense enough to recognize a good thing when she saw it and has a lot of my same interests and political leanings. She isn't in my same "career bracket" but I don't give two shits about that.

We've been together for a bit now.

I think josh is probably speaking of his social circles

The apps are pretty bad here and the bars my age group frequents arent really the type you meet people at

It takes a special dude to be a bonus dad. When I was younger I dated a woman with a daughter. I swore up and down I’d never do that again. Flash forward ten years I met my wife. She was divorced with two boys. It just clicked.

Point being..you don’t have a say in who you fall in love with.

There’s some level headed mid20s women out there. I just don’t know how to advise you go about finding them.

An example is I have a gorgeous 25 year old friend who is incredibly smart/educated, comes from a good family with solid financial background, dry sense of humor, etc. But she loves staying home and I highly doubt she uses dating apps. So I guess I get NIH’s point.

No man should care about a "career bracket" as long as you aren't incompetent financially, and she is able to keep up with you intellectually.

Definitely talking anecdotal. I’ve never used a dating app. I was already in the relationship I’m in now long before those were a thing

Of course

That’s how they ended up with Paisley and Daxton, both with different last names
