Problem is that women 8-10 younger than you now are completely different than 8-10 years ago. Social media has changed our society in so many ways. It’s shaped the younger generation in ways it didn’t shape us

Mostly. I’ve tried the undergrad route and I’ve ended up with instagram obsessed idiots.

Luckily I’m GTFO in a month and moving to a real city

Ooooh. This intrigued me. How can you tell? Like how they dress..?

Probably mostly how they dress. If I were t on my phone, I’d upload a pic or 2. You can usually just tell from a picture the way someone carries themselves/looks and more times than not, it’s right on.

Maybe my problem is I hung out with a girl for a little bit that had a 3 yr old and it was just awkward. It didn’t help that she had serious baby daddy issues and baby daddy family issues that turned me off....or maybe the problem is just me? Either way, I’m content for now

There’s a gap even between mid 20s and early 20s. The latter grew up competely with social media and are defined by it. Even mediocre girls take pictures like they’re instagram models. They snap stories all day long, etc.

My age ish isn’t quite that bad thankfully

Maybe my girlfriend is an exception, but she barely uses any social media other than to oo and aw over dogs, and communicate with her friends. She is 8 years younger, and other than her not understanding 75% the references I use (which I am working on), there isn't much of a difference in communication or expectations.

I’m 25 and the dating pool at least for my age in BR is getting thin. Couldn’t imagine the 30s scene

You must be looking in the wrong places. Ton of yuppies in their mid 20s to mid 30s.

Why couldn't they just forgive their husband for cheating and go forward from there?

My husband had a 5 yr when we met. I never had the desire to have kids of my own, and never entertained being a stepmother.

My wife had a daughter fairly young in college well before we met. She's grown and out of the house now.

We have another one that's about to be a teenager.

I'm somewhat glad they were all when I was reasonably young. We'll probably be empty nesters when I'm around 47-48

That’s part of why the most dangerous thing to have in a child’s home is an unrelated male with the mother. Not saying there aren’t decent men out there who will act as a good father figure to them, but statistics have shown that it is those men who are more likely to abuse and molest them. And that’s probably due to the fact that, biologically, they have no connection to the offspring and are competing with the mother for attention.

Damn. This makes sense, but I’m glad the reverse doesn’t seem to be true (unrelated female with the father). I’m unlikely to have kids at this point, and my stepdaughter is one of the best blessings in my life. I love her with all my heart and would die for her.

Can’t you go younger? I’d assume single guys in their 30s with no kids would have easy pickings

I said date. Pickens aren’t the issue. Finding one I want to date is.

There are just so many more temptations and things to get pissed about.

“You didn’t like my post.”
“You liked her post.”
“You don’t post enough about us.”

Blah blah blah. It’s tiring.

Keep spinning and spinning. It took me 4 years of using tinder and bumble before I found one I really liked. Don't give up hope, brother.

Tinder is a trailer park these days

Then When you can literally date anybody of any (legal) age and still can’t find anybody you want to date, I’m not sure where the problem lies.

No, they aren’t.

Though in fairness, I could see 25 being being a tough no man’s land. Women younger than you are intolerable; women your age are dating men my age (early 30s), and women my age are starting to really want babies, which is no fun for a 25 year old.

I didn’t say one/both/none hasn’t or isn’t. Just that I can see both sides because these are people who married later and thought that was it for them. I don’t think “no man on earth should consider them worthy”.. I just also totally get why a man wouldn’t want to be a step parent. I wouldn’t either. Hard dealbreaker for me.

In Tuscaloosa or Birmingham, it wasn't so bad.

Anywhere in rural Alabama was a dumpster fire. Hair stylists, dealership secretaries, and "stay at home" moms galore.
