The problem is twofold. As a mid 30s, never married, no kids eternal bachelor, I have seen it from up close and also at 30,000 ft.

The dudes get roped into a lifestyle and image they didn't ever conjure up, by a woman that cannot be satisfied by their attention alone. It is a guaranteed disaster at some point, whether it be 2 or 10 years later, someone will snap.

I blame the men as much as the women, fwiw.

Couples baby showers have been going on for a long time. If you are married and have friends that are couples, the guys can have a couple beers together while the women chat away. Nothing about that is emasculating.

Kids are awesome, but not a responsibility to be taken lightly. I have three girls under 7... its a lot of fun right now. In 10 years I might be in an insane asylum.

In the Civil War photos thread you made a good point about those young men being subject to forces that were beyond their control. I say the same thing applies to modern women (and men).
Sure, they’ve made some bad decisions to land where they have, but that’s not the whole story. Why were those bad choices available to them? Why didn’t they know any better? Is it just a coincidence that so many women seem to be making the same bad choices that used to be so rare?
