The way I see it, is you can't stop drug addicts from doing their thing, so basically just chalk that segment of our population off as dead and move on? Because people who shoot up heroin are basically going to eventually get a batch with too much fentanyl in it and will OD.

Pretty much why the family unit and values are so important. Some people need help and thats what families are supposed to do. Of course some familes are pieces of shite. Sometimes life just sucks. I think in a way our society has become weak minded and way to dependent on things that just numb the pain.

Looks fascinating, I didn't know the epidemic started in Louisiana.

Louisiana, NO and BR have long been known for the purest heroine around. If people really knew the EPIDEMIC it is just in BR they’d be shocked.

Watching the old school OxyContin commercials was creepy

A shoneys reference?? This is the most accurate view of rural Louisiana I’ve ever seen

I wonder how much she was paid for the interview?

Also, did they pay the guy who killed little Danny for his appearance? I can’t see any reason that guy would have agreed to be interviewed if he wasn’t getting paid.

Are the people interviewed in these documentaries typically paid?

Great series. I read the story about this a couple years ago but they did a great job. I love the former LA pharma rep for Purdue telling it like it is. Said the rep in cleggetts territory made 800 thousand a year. Wow.

You know about aging and getting old right? You know that's a thing?

Just saying she really let herself go. She's the same age as J. Lo and Gwen Stefani.

There's getting old, and there's just letting yourself go.

This is what blew my mind. So the DEA said they were already investigating it and then when they dad would call to check up they would tell him it takes time. I understand investigations do take time, they don't want to do a sloppy job and screw the whole case up, but anyone could have gone sit across the street from the place, at night, and see exactly what was going on.

What were they unable to get that took so long? The dad pretty much did their job for them.and I think it shows something about Louisiana politics. Nothing gets done unless someone takes it upon themselves to figure out how to go through all the channels and make it happen.

Started the documentary tonight, Danny was a year younger then me, I didn’t know him but seeing the friend of the family named Debbie, that’s a good friend of mine’s mom. Apparently we had several mutual friends. The true colors of the NOPD come to light in this documentary, damn

The statistic at the very end that over 400,000 Americans have OD’d is a staggering figure. I knew it was bad but holy shite that is an amazing number.

They watched her give out pills like candy, had physical proof, had an undercover proof, document proof, had local police force involvement, and zero reasonable doubt

And never even once told her “hey man stop this shite” until he finally made the call.

Then had the audacity to act like the medical board has more reach than the frickin DEA

Nah the DEA knew exactly what was happening and either were getting their cut or figured “eh let all the addicts kill themselves”

watched the first 2 episodes tonight -- wow.

as a father of sons, I totally understand a father's love.

This dude Schneider made himself so ultra-connected to everyone that might be connected to his son's murder, Facebook has nothing on that.

Saw someone mention that the doc wasn’t that good bc “I thought it was gonna be more about the murder and not the drug stuff”

I was like the drug shite is 100000 times more interesting than the murder.
