I just watched the first two. This is a very, very well done documentary, it’s unique because Dan had collected so much of his own documentation. He recorded everything.

What is more amazing is that Dan’s house was located close to ground zero where Hurricane Katrina impacted St. Bernard Parish in 2005. Every house had 10+ feet of water and severe wind damage. Many houses had oil contamination from the Murphy Refinery oil spill. Miraculous all that evidence survived and was not destroyed.

What is more miraculous is that Dan didn't get his arse kicked for recording people like he did. I applaud his motivation, but damn, he had to get annoying after a while.

Watched the first episode.
Takeaways:
The mom was legit OT 8 in highschool/bride. WTF happened? Scares me off of marriage totally.
Even though an OT 8 how could the dad have married the mom with that accent. Worse than Vergara. I'd have tapped out after the third date.
Do all people there sound like that? Dated a girl from Violet when at LSU and she had that cheese grater accent too. Must be horrible place to live.
If the guy who pretended to help the dad find scarface was the killer, why is he in civvies in the doc and not in jail somewhere?
This St. Bernard, 9th ward looks like hell. Why would anyone want to live there. This dude was a pharmacist making bank he could've moved to Slidell or north BR and it would've been a major upgrade.
It's a great doc so far, Netflix sent me an email recommending it because I watched the pizza bomber doc which was really good. But again Erie PA looks like white trash central too. That hooker was no Julia Roberts.
Makes me grateful that I live in greater Orlando/Kissimmee. Everyone makes fun of FL but these places are 50 times more disgusting and crime ridden.

Kind of gratifying seeing how broken down the POS doctor was at the end. Almost better than rotting in prison.

Yeah Karma got her and she has no remorse.
The murderer only got 13 years.

St. Bernard and the 9 Ward are two different places. 9th ward is a shite hole ghetto don't confuse the two.

He was 15 so he was probably tried as a juvenile and released. I would have had him killed like the drug dealer offered the dad.

Saw an article that stated she lives in a small apartment complex in EBR now and was an assistant manager for a Taco Bell at one time.

Definitely check this out
I hope the Good OT doctor and his MD friends also take a look. Might be 2 real for them.
Or 2 busy to watch, because they are backed up with patients, passing out pain pills for paper cuts.

She’s a garbage person with a garbage attitude. It grossed me out listening to her. Totally no remorse for being a state licensed drug dealer.

Watched it all in one sitting.
Extremely well done and very interesting. Dude is/was a persistent SOB.
Nice to see him turning his tragedy around to something positive.

Binge watched yesterday. All 4 episodes. This documentary was so fricking good, that I couldn't stop!
How about "Robby"? How does a guy let himself go that bad? He was beyond fat.
One of the major things I took away from watching this is a question that Dan raised at the end. Ok, so now we have regulation on pain killers, and people who were once shooting up oxys are now shooting up heroin. So the problem wasn't solved, and in a lot of ways has become worse. What's the end game? The way I see it, is you can't stop drug addicts from doing their thing, so basically just chalk that segment of our population off as dead and move on? Because people who shoot up heroin are basically going to eventually get a batch with too much fentanyl in it and will OD.

In part 2, is that Elizabeth Warren in the canoe during the Perdue Pharma commercial?

I just finished it and wow.. It is incredible.
The dad is relentless. Nothing was going to stop him once he has his mind set on it. There needs to be more people like him in this state.

This reply is fairly long, read it if you choose.
I'm going to ramble on a bit as it's definitely a small world when it comes to Mr. Schneider's story about his son Danny. I'm very familiar with the lower 9th ward and where the murder occurred. Been there hundreds of times when it was much safer. My brother attended Holy Cross Catholic School from 1984-1989 which has been around since 1865 (Civil War era). It was one of the first boarding schools in America and I believe the 2nd oldest Catholic high school in America. HC is 1 block from Forstall and Dauphine (crime scene).
My great Aunt Laurentine Ernst lived around the corner from HC school and 1 block from the Mississippi River. As a young kid in the 1970's, I remember visiting Aunt Teen, sliding down the levee on cardboard, and throwing oyster shells watching them skip across the river. Aunt Teen's favorite beverage was Miller Ponies
and her address was 829 Jourdan Ave. I distinctly remember her address since she would mail me birthday and Christmas cards. She was a librarian and community activist who taught young neighborhood kids piano lessons for free, taught reading lessons, maintained a clean neutral ground area on St. Claude Ave., and started a garden where local residents could plant row crops. (see pic below)
In the 1950's through late 1970's, that area was predominantly white. As St. Bernard Parish began expanding south, the locals moved out and inner city black families moved into the area. I was never scared visiting Aunt Teen in the 1980's but things got real scary in the 1990's once crack and drugs gangs started taking over the 9th ward. Aunt Teen was the only white person living in that area and she was a widow. The local community respected her enough that no one messed with her.
Watching part 2 of the documentary, they showed Jefferey Hall's mug shot and personal information from his arrest. Jefferey was 15 yrs old at the time and lived at 827 Jourdan Ave. right next door to Aunt Teen.
She lived there until August 2005 when Katrina forced her to evacuate. She and my grandmother Lorraine (Teen's sister) lived with me and my family in Lafayette for several weeks until we could find nursing homes for them since they were 85 and 87 yrs old respectively. Aunt Teen would have been 100 yrs old today, as she passed away in 2011. Amazing how you can see certain things today that take you back to your childhood when times were so innocent.
Aunt Teen's honorary garden which is still used today by the locals who live near Forstall, Dauphine, Jourdan, and nearby streets.

What and where is the Purdue rep, Chris Davis? I really enjoyed his take on what they were doing. I've gotten on the google machine and can't find anything about him.
