Me and a distant cousin worked on our ancestry for years. One of my Aunts married a guy who was adopted. He did the DNA through ancestry and found out that he had a first cousin in Houma. They even revealed his name to him. So this guy calls me and asks if I can help him find out who is father is. I told him that he should find out who the guys dad was. He said that he had already talked with him. He said that the guys dad had 5 brothers. I said, ok, one of them is your dad. He said, how can I tell which one, his mom was dead and couldn't tell him. I told him to find out their ages and see if he could eliminate any. He said that he had already done that. I said did any fit the age of someone close to your mom. He said yes, only one. I asked , what is his name. The name he gave was the same as his only the first name and second was in reverse order. I said, what do you need from me when you already know who it is. Get one of his children to do a DNA and see.

Can't even imagine. That's incredible! Do yall live anywhere close to each other?

Wow Congrats!!
I don't know if I would be more happy that I have a sibling I didn't know about, or upset that they were "kept" from me for so long.

Will you be meeting your bio mom now? You said your bio sister found you through the bio mom.

My wife was adopted. Recently she wanted to do Ancestry DNA to see what her heritage was. We were ignorant in what we were getting into at the time. She sent off the kit and it came back as a huge shocker.
She was born in 1968 to an unwed college student in Holyoke college (Holyoke Ma). She has fair skin, dark hair and green eyes. Irish all the way right? Nope... 1/2 Hungarian/1/2 Lithuanian. Shocker.
Bigger shock.. she matched to a first cousin who had only an aunt on the DNA match pattern. We found her bio mom in about 3 hours.
My wife sent a letter telling her she had a wonderful life and tanking her for the sacrifice she made. A connection/relationship are totally up to the birth mother.
I started digging in the DNA matches on the dad side and am almost 100% sure my wife is a full sibling to a woman the birth mother had 8 years later. We are doing 23 and me to hopefully confirm that before reaching out to the sister.
Do you recommend going forward or leaving well enough alone?
