Remember how AI became a thing like 8 months ago, and ppl were like k cool I got a few years til AGI.

And now we're all pretty much cooked

The rate of progress really is insane. It’s easy to become a little numb to it because you hear about it constantly, but OpenAI didn’t even exist as a company until 2015. Their first large language model (GPT-1) was released in 2018.

DALL-E was a novelty when it was initially released in January 2021. Now you can run Stable Diffusion locally on a 4GB graphics card.

Crazy times.

Ask it what women are thinking.

I'll die in a perpetual failure of logic of reason.

We will be ruled by algorithms. Might as well.

Wonder how many jobs it will replace in a decade?

Going to be interesting.

Microsoft: Oh darn, we now can do all this with no caps on profit and use two different subsidiary companies so we dont have a monopoly. What dumb luck!

I mean, it’s already further killing creativity in young people. They use this shite for everything.

If anyone has ever dealt with a machine in real life the fact that "AI" can take over is ludicrous.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Like Sam Altman said, the real barrier is scientific progress. When AI starts making scientific discoveries, that's when we've really arrived.

Me too. Humanity sucks. I’ve been hoping for an extinction event comet for a long time now. But if AI can do the job, I’m all in.

I am going Team AI too. AI ain’t got culcha on every street corner seeking violence and just being unfit for society in general.

I hate all these AI guys that talk about how this is so great for society and people won’t need to work and we can all get by on a universal income, etc. All the while they will make billions and live in mansions the rest of their lives. AI will create even bigger wealth disparity than we already are seeing.
