The oddity of women valuing physical appearance less than men do

I find it weird that girls sometimes date ugly men and become emotionally attached to them. Men don’t do these things typically.
For example, the women I work with will gossip and talk about all of the things going on in some ugly dude’s life. They’ll talk about his new haircut, his personal life, his friends, his family, the way he acts at work, etc. In a way, the ugly men still have a certain power over the women and a certain pull on them.
However, men never really do this. If there’s an ugly girl in the office, we don’t obsess over their personal life or anything else about them. We just let them be and don’t talk about them much. They have no pull on us, and we don’t feel a need to interact with them.
Just an observation on the differences between the way that males and females interact and feel attraction to the opposite sex.

Women value different things than men.
We are visual, hunter/gatherers.
Women are more communal, thoughtful, and nurturing. They are probably saying that about the ugly guy bc they are looking for the positives in people instead of writing them off for superficial reasons.

Men need a healthy partner to birth their offspring, which correlates with attractiveness. Women need a secure environment to raise those offspring, which doesn't correlate with attractiveness. All things being equal, women want an attractive partner too, but they value stability and security above attractiveness.

My honest opinion is that this guy likely has something that others do not. And it may just be as simple as empathy for other humans, and the ability to talk to women.
I'm sure many people on this board post in jest, but half the posts here make me want to vomit when I see the response towards women. Many of you just don't get it.

This seems like another alter troll post.
There are differences between women and men, but it really has nothing to do with OP.
Women are going for their highest plateau, but understand they have a safety net. Lots of leg-humpers as a fall back.
Men do the same thing, but in a different way.
I don't know what office you work in, but sounds terrible.
