The Northeast is exactly how we think it is…

I’ve been up this way for over a week and will finish my vacation in Quebec. I’ve spent time in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and currently in Boston.
Baltimore: exactly as ghetto as we thought. They do keep the riff-raff out of Inner Harbor for the most part. My wife called out some human feces on the street before I almost stepped in it. She doesn’t hate me as much as I thought.
Philadelphia: I was pleasantly surprised by downtown/City Center areas. There are bums of course, but lots of folks wandering around taking in some sights. Reading Terminal Market is a fun stop for some food.
Boston: I feel like this sums up what I think of NE. It’s pretty. It’s a nice big city. Fenway is an incredible visit for a baseball fan. That said, pride flags and BLM signs are out in full force. These people seem to use those things as primary character identifiers, while most in the South and Texas do not. The youngsters up here will be influenced by their environment, no doubt. Connecticut capitol building had the pride flag flying above all other flags. I was walking around some lovely neighborhoods in Somerville, and the commercials we laugh at are spot on here. Lesbian couples that look like teenage boys. They all drive “those” cars, and they’re loaded with the political stickers.
I’m having as much fun as I can. For details, look at my previous threads. My lack of excitement has zero to do with where I am.
I can just tell that the “cause” isn’t going away soon. To each their own. In Baltimore, the Orioles were announcing donations to LGBTQ++++ charities. I found myself wondering what kind of charitable cause was needed for that group.
ETA: women here are in general, unattractive.

Pick up some Wild Turkey Rare Breed up yonder. The export version is non-chill filtered and tastes even better than the one here in the U.S.

And everybody is always in a bad mood there as well. Probably because it sucks to live there.

I’m glad you enjoyed the OP’s Dear Facebook post though.

Everywhere or in certain states?
I hear that Québécois chicks can be cute but are fiery as hell.

Why should cocksuckers and dirt daubers be proud of it? Those people are out of their minds up there.

Opinion or personal experience?
There are several beautiful places in New England.
Not sure why this board tends to bash places for no reason. Especially places that are unique and offer a ton of outdoor experiences.

It’s good and bad. Just like it is here in the South. I took my daughter to look at colleges last year and while COVID wasn’t a thing, some of the cities were just dead. We flew into Hartford, CT and it was damn near a ghost town.
Some of the smaller, mid-size towns that we passed through looked run down, especially in eastern Pa.
But you are correct, aside from the liberals, Boston is a just a cool city.

I’ve been to Quebec a few times. The French Canadians can be gorgeous.
I haven’t seen a type here in Boston/Philly that look good. Honestly, the only ones are the Latinas that aren’t speaking English lol.
Lots of overweight women, and the bandana in the hair is a common look.

Shouldn’t you be worrying about your marriage?

Always love when a yokel OTer goes on an extremely basic trip and has to tell us about all about “the big city”

A Texas flag simply identifies where one is from. What’s wrong with that?
I don’t see nearly as many Confederate flags in the South as I do pride flags in the north.

It's been over a decade since I've been, but New Haven wasn't great either which was a little surprising to me

Sorry. You didn’t have to read. I assume you’ve had some fun travel experiences too. Share away if you feel so compelled.

It definitely is. But as others have said there are some really pretty areas in New England.

Not west of I-35.
Way more of a western vibe than East Texas.

In an effort to not kill myself, I’m trying my damndest to live my life. We already paid for the trip so we boarded the flight. Marriage counseling will wait until we get home. I am a civil person and we don’t argue, so it’s not a pain to be with my wife.
