Wildfires have been a big issue in Texas for months now. Hot, dry, and windy.

The biggest barrier to climate change legislation is climate change proponents. They've lied and fudged so much, no one can believe them.

If they weren't overly emotional dumbasses, people might listen.

Yes indeed. Weeks and weeks with almost cloudless skies. Just baking sun. That’s not typical for Houston. Although last week we had a couple showers that lowered temps, this week we’re baking again.

Yep. The skies have been so cloudless seeing any sizable cloud actually grabs my attention now.

Have they ever thought that maybe it's all the concrete in the cities causing the temps to rise in those cities? Towns and cities are 2 to 4 degrees hotter than my yard in the country.

So you're saying climate change is man-made?

I did the figuring a while back, just for my area, on the hottest Summers we have had. This is North AL.

1. 1925 - 95.10°
2. 1954 - 94.40°
3. 1931 - 93.45°
4. 1921 - 93.42°
5. 2016 - 93.05°
6. 1930 - 92.80°
7. 2010 - 92.72°
8. 1933 - 92.70°
9. 1936 - 92.42°
10. 2007 - 91.45°

The 1920s and 1930s were hell for most of the Eastern part of the country.

Rest of the top 20:
11. 2019 - 91.37°
      1922 - 91.37°
12. 1926 - 91.22°
13. 1952 - 91.12°
14. 1934 - 91.07°
15. 1935 - 91.02°
16. 1953 - 91.00°
17. 1932 - 90.95°
18. 2018 - 90.87°
19. 1913 - 90.80°
20. 1939 - 90.65°
     1914 - 90.65°

We are setting WAY more record highs every year than record lows and that trend is accelerating.

You can pull politics, and conspiracies about recording stations etc. into it but that’s a pointless rabbit hole conversation.

I just started doing July for my area because I have the time. I'm through 2002.

From 2002 to 2021, 12 out of 20 Julys have been below normal.

Eh. It’s remained consistently hotter here this year (Kentucky) than it typically does during this stretch. 2012 and 2019 are the most recent in the last decade where temperatures were hotter than normal for longer stretches.

I can handle the occasional 100+ degree day. It’s when you’re looking at a week of them, a small 2-3 break, then another week right after before you’ve even hit August that it becomes miserable.

It’s also being compounded here by drought.

I like how the same people who freak out when people use cold snaps as proof global warming doesn’t exist use heat waves as proof it does exist.

Reminds me of 1980 and 1994. 1980 was a bitch. High School summer job working in a steel shop, when it was over 100 every day.
