Do we not have the technology to jam the signals of these things? Seems that would be a reasonable way to defend against them

We've spent the last 50 years developing comm systems robust enough to handle jamming.

There are videos online (not posting) of these drones being used a lot in the Ukraine war. They basically are flying around exploding and knocking peoples limbs off then more drones come around after that to finish you off. It's brutal.

Brutal being to kind. Those things are destroying tanks like its nothing. Now imagine a couple of soldiers. That Ukraine War has many rethinking how the battlefield will play out in the future.

I wonder if something similar to the technology used in the Spaceball-Druidia war in the mid-80s could be modified to jam drones?

In all seriousness, what in the hell has mankind done to one another? If you believe in God let’s hope he steps in soon.

Humanity has made so much progress. Still slaughtering each other. We are nothing more than sophisticated monkeys with technology.

Next itll be AI pilots directing swarms and the only thing on the battlefield will have to be hardened armed robots.

And when the AI pilots decide that we humans are the problem?

Probably something pretty sinister like nabbing the enemy's CO, strip searching him for contraband, fitted for formal wear, given the password for the ship's WiFi, and placed on light duty til his B-hole heals.

Yes they can be jammed but the Russians have already gotten around that with fly by wire fiberoptic on 10K reels. 4K video all the way to the target.

It's difficult to electronically disable something that was designed to not be easily disabled. Kinetic always works, but there's the whole accuracy and speed of engagement problem.

Mass produced small drones are shaping up to be as much of a gamechanger as machine guns.

Nicely done short film. The c130 dropping of drones would be a great way to flood an area with packs of hunting and killing drones. You could also drop these as a type of cluster munition that could act as a smart mine. Rather than being passive like a mine the drone could go dormant and then power up and attack when it senses the presence of humans.
Another method to cause havoc on your enemy is to program the drones to take out electrical infrastructure.
I am sure DARPA has folks working on this and other ways to make life on this planet a dystopian hell.
