I'd wait for the Hyundai G70 (Built on the same platform as the Stinger).
The chassis is the K900 and the Genesis will be more luxurious and softer, the Stinger is more performance oriented. Think Lexus vs BMW.

Kia doesn't get the respect it deserves. I'm not saying it is a luxury brand, but its much better than what the uneducated make it out to be.

No other brand is quite capable of delivering engines in every segment that are guaranteed to sludge within 5 years. It's truly remarkable.

Avis gave me an AWD V6 Kia Sorrento in Denver the other day. drove it over the pass and all around mountains. "camped" in it for three nights outside aspen. i was surprisingly impressed with the quality and feel.
and, i got to feel like a real poor driving a kia in aspen. totally redeemed myself.

Damn, I bet you could easily convince most people that that was a BMW

Also, from what I've read. The G70 is supposed to be Hyundai's answer to the German big three (3 series, Audi A4 & C-Class)
quote:
The U.S.-market G70 will offer a pair of engines: a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four rated for 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque and a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6 good for a stout 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft. (Outputs are approximate; exact U.S.-market specs won’t be finalized until early next year, ahead of a March or April on-sale date as a 2019 model.) Both will be available with rear- or all-wheel drive, and all models also get a limited-slip rear differential as standard. The same Hyundai-designed eight-speed automatic from the G80 is standard across the board (albeit with specific programming), although the U.S. may also get a special treat in a first-year-only 2.0T with a manual transmission. (If that happens, credit Genesis’s U.S. arm, which we’re told requested the combo.) When paired with the 3.3T and put into Sport mode, the all-wheel-drive system is said to be more reluctant to shift torque from the rear in the interest of driving fun. Says Biermann of this behavior: “It probably wouldn’t be in the car without me.”

I'm really looking forward to this car.

Too bad it's still a shitbox kia
It's been alluded to in several posts, but I didn's see it mentioned here directly:
Kia is owned in part by Hyundai, which helps explain its rise back to relevance. (The two own percentages of each other.) Both companies are putting out quality, affordable cars right now. "Look at it this way, Hyundai and Kia use the exact same parts and compete in the exact same market with the exact same identities." LINK

No I don't think you do, I was saying they do use the same chassis just tuned differently one more lux ride and one more performance oriented.

Saw these at the auto show in Chicago this year.... they looked sharp and have some power. I just can't get over the fact that it's a Kia.

If the G70 sedan has more HP than the MKV Supra I will cry a little on the inside.

Toyota has backed off on building sport cars/sedans. For example, I love the Toyota 86 (Subaru BRZ). But that car is underwhelming in some ways.

People often get too hung up on HP. My primary track car is an E46 M3. While the engine is fairly well massaged it is still a NA 3.2L NA I6 that came from the factory with over 100hp per liter so there is not much to gain without going FI. The weight (though not a lightweight by any means) gearing and balance let me hunt down many more powerful cars at the track.
Someone mentioned the Toyota 86, one has to view it similar to a MX5 as it is a hoot to drive on the street and track. Always remember it is more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. The average weekend warrior can get near 100% out of the 86 but put them in a 500hp car and they will just clog a track day up (no passing in the turns so they run away on the straights and back you up in the turns).
The most fun cars to drive are what Magnus Walker calls a flat foot car. The guy could build or buy any car in the world, and he knows what he is doing on the track, and his favorite car is his famous '71 911 known as the 277 and it has about 200hp.

They're actually working with BMW on the next Supra
