Still have my 1989 5 series (E34) M5 that I picked up while stationed in Germany. So much nicer than the new ones.

Damn, those are amazing. What color? Pictures (engine or exterior)?

Love the exterior style of BMW, but There's just not enough more about them that I like. Almost bought a new 325 in '14 but just couldn't.

Eh, nothing has really changed. I always found their interiors to be extremely blah, especially for a luxury vehicle.

This. The 3 and 5 series are nothing to write home about, but the 750 is pretty sweet. Frankly, there really isn't too terribly much of a difference between the 3 an 5 series interiors in my opinion.

Still prefer the M2 for the price point. M5 is just a tad out my range :( (OT Lite Baller)

If you get a bad one, they suck. I know 2 people in the last 5 years or so that had their 7 series bought back as lemons. One guy didn't even have to ask. They were so perplexed that they just ordered him another car and gave him a loaner until they got the new one. Just swapped them out.

The new 3 series must be nice if they match the interior quality of a 5. My 5's a bit older, but way damn nicer than any 3 series I've been in. Pretty much everything down to the door cards.

I tested an A4 and I did not like it at all compared to a BMW. My preference only, not a fact.

You drive a new 4 series against it? Those look killer.

It's a pretty car.

The problem is that BMW's are high maintenance and don't offer the driving dynamics they used to. You have to get a Jaguar or Cadillac for that unless you buy a 12-15 year old 5 series. Hopefully this new 5 series corrects that problem with more recent BMWs.

Cars are starting to look way to similiar.

If you were to cover up the trademark grill in the OP's picture, it could just as easily be a high end Accord.

You must be that guy from the Chevy ads that mistakes an impala for an Audi.

Looks like an RS7 with significantly less aggressive wheels

I have an 11 year old 6 series that I think looks better than the newer 6 series and it runs great. Really fun to drive.

the interior of the A6 is pretty pathetic for a high end mid size luxury sedan. Even the previous 5 series interior was better. The front of the A6 is nice but the back is incredibly boring

driving dynamics aren't an issue with the 3 series. Cadillac won't touch the 3. But the previous 5 series did drive like a boat by most accounts. Hope they corrected that with this model

That's true of the regular 5 series. If you get the M-sport package it drives much better in the SPORT+ mode. (2011 F10 535 x-drive M-Sport for the record)
