Let’s do it. Down airline.

You could probably do it on airline between Sorrento and Gramercy. Road was repaved and not alot of traffic.

I had a '96 Corvette and did 151 between Highland and Hwy 73(Dutchtown exit) on I-10 back in the day. Still had some left but I shut it down because I started thinking about either dying or going to jail.

Pretty surprised that 90% of the dealers are at MSRP with no ADM

When I had my 2010 Camaro, I took it up to top speed a couple times. It was either 154 or 155, I don’t remember. It had plenty left but the limiter shut you down at that speed due to the tires’ speed rating. Did it on old Hwy. 90 on the way to Slidell, which is bumpy as frick. Car handled it just fine.

I remember Toyota dealerships marking up the Supra to over 70k.

Wait forever for a new Supra. By the time it shows up to dealers, it was already outclassed.

Meh..it was outclassed long before that. It’s around Mustang GT speed. Was never going to be special. A friend of mine has deposits on a Launch Edition Supra and a 2020 Vette.

Supra

I hadn't really followed closely but an MSRP of ~$55k for a 330hp 2 seater Toyota seems crazy to me, even crazier when you see that most dealerships are marking them up $20k and pricing them in the $75-$80k range.

ETA: It's like they even know they're full of shite with these markups, this is on the listing for a Launch Edition at a dealership in Hammond.

"2020 Toyota Supra available here at Supreme Toyota. Come see me ********* for more info or PM me. Car is LISTED FOR $83,069. Serious buyers only and yes we will negotiate. Only 1500 of these launch editions made. This is number 833. Car does not have 300 miles. Has 2 miles. Came off the transport truck and into the showroom. Any negative comments please keep to yourself. Thanks"

Yeah I don’t know how buyers can justify that price for a Supra when you can get a C8 for $60k-$70k.

The only people who will bite on the Supra will be the Toyota faithful, but even they are disappointed with this BMW-Toyota mutant.

Every other dude with a pickup will claim to do 150 and I’ve had friends swear they made the BR to Nola drive in 35 minutes, so this isn’t impressive

The Supra seems to be closer to the Camaro or Mustang than the Corvette. I guess the Nissan Z would be a competitor if they ever redesigned it.

All the Supra talk in relation to the C8 is odd to me. Outside of the rough timing correlation there really wasn't much need to compare it to a Corvette. Basically, from inception it was a slower and more expensive car than the C7. That isn't to say I don't think Toyota screwed up with the positioning of the new Supra.

Seems like the new fad for youtubers is to mod the new Supra for views.

While the C8 is rightfully stealing all the press the Mk5 is more impressive than a lot of people are giving it credit for. They are running 10s with stock turbos (and a TC based auto) and they are starting to top 550 wheel HP with upgraded turbos. While Supras aren't my bag they are turning out to have serious tuner potential.

That said modding cars for views isn't exactly a new trend.

Paying ADM for a Supra is dumb AF.
