re: The National Anthem...Why is everyone offended by the kneeling/sitting?

I'm not offended. They have the right to stand, kneel or sit for the national anthem. If they want to kneel or sit as a form of protest, then so be it. They aren't hurting anybody. They aren't in the street assaulting people, killing cops and assaulting people. They are using their platform to raise awareness on an issue they feel that is important. Do I agree with them? Absolutely not. I don't fall in line with their misguided sense of morality, but I still respect their opinion. I also have the right not to watch NFL games or purchase any NFL products.

I thought the NFL players who were kneeling against racism were idiots. But then I met the rednecks that let those players trigger them. Yeesh

Freddie Gray and Alton Sterling had 35 arrests between them. The world is a better place without them in it.

The poliboard is losing their shite over this.
They fantasize about people boycotting watching NFL and the league going out of business, when in reality, it won't happen, because people just want to watch a game, not think about politics.
also, big frickin deal if some people decide they don't want to stand for the anthem. You don't like it, you don't support it and go do something else. This isn't North Korea where everyone is forced into blind allegiance.

How brave of you to express this opinion on tigerdroppings of all places. Really putting it all on the line with this highly contentious take

I really don't care about the kneeling. It's their right to do it and my right to not watch it.

It's just funny, because the NFL is one of the biggest propogators of jingoistic ideals. They have entire games dedicated to the military. They raise so much money for the Wounded Warrior project. Yet, a few players kneel over something not related to the military, and these people pray for the NFL to fail.
They are just using military vets as a prop to hide behind their true racist intent

You applauding innocent cop murders is pretty disgusting but I've come to expect that from the left. I'm not surprised at all

I didnt read through all the previous posts so sorry if this was already stated.
No the military doesnt pay for it to be sung.
We have the national anthem before games to remember all the soldiers that sacrificed so we could be free.
On the other side, they sacrificed so that we could have free speech which includes distasteful and offensive speech.
Im not sure how I feel about it. I dont like it, but I also dont believe in censorship.
