Do the valuzzos still own the McDs in BR?

For some reason I thought they sold out?

With all the competition now a days, McDs business has to be struggling.

I agree. They need to at least pressure wash it or something.

Quite the opposite. Look at the stock performance for one.

For a real world example I know several Chick fil a owner/operators. We talk pretty candidly. Most of these guys are working themselves to death with anywhere from 70-100 hour weeks and making $100k - $140k a year. Some get a company car thrown in. I averaged $348k per McDonald's franchise I own and if I were still working in a physical store I wouldn't be working 70 hour weeks I would probably be doing closer to 50-55 hour weeks. So, who would you rather be? Making $348k per year owning a McDonald's working 55 hours a week or $140k at a Chick-fil-a making not even half as much for almost double the hours?

Pretty easy pick there.

One on Perkins the worst. Most of the time at night no outdoor lighting. I mentioned it one time and they said their system is so old they have to flip a switch and they usually forget. Looks like it’s closed. Ice cream machine broken 50/% of the time.

Yeps Back in 2011. John and Chris/Charlie split em up.

Chris and Charlie sold theirs last year to McDonalds of Acadiana. John still owns quite a few in BR.

I am not sure who's are run well vs shite but they are night and day in service from one corner to the next it seems.

Chik fil A

Damn. I’m not doubting you at all, I’m just shocked. Here in Metairie there’s always a damn traffic jam trying to get into Chik Fil A. The owner is only making 140k? I thought those places would print money. What gives?

I feel like ever since 9/11 cops either eat free or get some absurd discount everywhere. Not against it by any means but was this a thing before the towers went down.

First McD in BR was /is the one on Plank Rd. The 2nd one is the one on Florida@ Sharp. I thought the best one was at the Rebel shopping center(now BRCC) until it burnt down. Was that a way to get rid of the Civil War motif?

frick everyone of you assholes who thinks you should be able to hold up Perkins traffic to make your left turn out of that McDonald's as if you are at a 4way stop. You didn't have to get an egg mcmuffin and hashbrowns that badly did you?

Why not use the protected left turn onto College and use the McDonald's entrance next to the railroad tracks?

I have only lived in Baton Rouge for a month or so, but it does not seem like the complete rundown shitehole people make it out to be. Yes, traffic is abysmal, but overall this place isn't too bad. Besides education, Virginia isn't much better/different from here.

This could use its own spin-off thread.

For the first 48 hours when I go home I get a sense of nostalgia and I miss BR , then on the 3rd day I begin to remember how the rest of the world works and am happy where I am.
