The Mormon Church Is Stepping Up Their Recruiting Game

They just had two young women knock on my door (they must have been in their early 20s). I looked and just saw two decent looking girls at the door (OT5ish), I open up the door and I see her name tag that had "Church of Latter Day Saints" or something like that and I thought to myself "Damn!", but I at least listened to what she had to say before just being rude and closing the door. I smiled and just told her "I am sorry, I am not interested" and she told me "Okay, thank you for your time and have a blessed day".. And I wasn't even really pissed off that they came to my house on a Sunday just after 6PM.
I thought they just sent out the dudes with white short sleeve shorts and black ties? These girls didn't have a uniform on. They were dressed like they would if they were going to church, but it wasn't a uniform.. You think the church figured if they sent out young, decent looking female members, they could get more people (especially men) to listen?

The girls should have had a sign that said “want both of us at the same time? Convert to the Mormon faith”

I am going outside to see if I can see them in my neighborhood. If I do, I will take a picture.

I live in an area of the country that is pretty mormon compared to rest of nation (besides utah and idaho)...they are very good looking people. Good english genetics for the most part.....pure and graceful.

I admire people who believe in something to such a degree they are willing to subject themselves to ridicule and scorn from everyone else.

What about the English are good genetics? They are some of the ugliest peoples of Europe with the Greeks.

Males typically go on missions at 19, and it's expected unless there are special circumstances. Steve Young and Danny Ainge were instructed to not go on missions because church leaders thought they would do more good by being successful in a high profile career.
Females may go on a mission at 21 if they're still single. The most famous female missionary is Elizabeth Smart.
You also see empty nesters serve as missionaries, but this is the least common.

Wait a minute. I’m nearly 100% English.
But I’m not exactly super-model material either.

Were they wearing white oxfords and black pants?

Mormons are an attractive breed for the most part. They're really nice on top of that.

This is not new at all. Missions are optional for women but many still do it. Probably half of the women in my family have done missions going back for years. You just don't notice them as easily, because like you said, they don't wear white shirts and ties.

In 1898, the church began allowing single women to be called as missionaries.

I was stunned when I went to the very Mormon parts of Utah. Gorgeous women everywhere. They're not all blondes, but a lot of them are. You can tell that a LOT of the people who settled there were. Really, really good looking women are all over the place.
The Temple is a beautiful gothic building and the Tabernacle is this neat dome looking building. Salt Lake City is gorgeous. Pretty much everything in Utah is stunningly beautiful. You just don't want to leave such a perfect place.
Then you find out about their liquor laws.
Oddly enough, Utah cast the deciding vote to repeal the 18th amendment and ratify the 21st.
