They need to replace the racist characters with black heroes like George Floyd and Travon Martin. Now that would be a fun ride.

Pirates of the Caribbean basically has a rape/sexual assault scene.

The truth is that no one really cares to go to war over Splash Mountain, of all things.

This is just a high-profile scalp for the mob to collect... to put on display right next to Drew Brees.

They're just seeing what they can get away with. Why wouldn't they?

No doubt Disney comes out with a new movie with a black princess and/or hero in the next 90 days. It will be their new signature attraction at their parks as well within the next year.

Probably be good for my Disney shares.

I mean that ride does feel pretty racist at points, if I am being honest.

Which parts, specifically, "feel racist"? I never saw the "song of the south" movie, and i gotta tell ya, i can't even find a human animatronic in that whole ride.

The entire ride is about a fox and bear trying to catch and eat a rabbit, but keep failing due to their own faults, ultimately the rabbit escapes.

We should talk about how Disney World has priced out the African American population...I think they should give every black American citizen free admission for life, you know, if they're really serious about all the let's make a change talk

They should just change the song to some hardcore death metal. Problem solved.

When I first heard of this I said, oh hell no, because I like Splash Mountain. But then I saw a video some guy did where he filmed the ride but superimposed Princess and the Frog music and it worked really well. Wouldn't even have to change the visuals all that much because a lot of it is swamp scenery. And kids today have no idea about Song of the South but I'm sure a lot of little girls would be stoked to go on a Tiana ride.

The dialect and slang were meant to reflect the times as if it’s being told by an old slave “Uncle Remus” who is based off of real people. Its not much different in how Cajun people are portrayed outside of is satire like Waterboy.

Saw they took away the black birds scene from the ride last time I was there. Now where the birds used to perch and sing their part in the song there's a really awkward silence.

I’m not very attached to the themes either and would be fine with an update. Wouldn’t be much different from Mr Toads Wild Ride becoming Winnie The Pooh. However, I’m against cancel culture so getting rid of it for the sake of getting rid of it would suck.
