And Sams in Alexandria had more people in it than on Black Friday.

We waited outside, but when you went in it was a damn human sardine can.

Sure glad that Honor Chode was able to keep his haircut in this time of emergency.

They truly are.
We have a local brewery here, I dont remember the specifics but the long and short of it is that they cant serve food, but they have a food truck parked outside a lot of the time. And it was not about them not wanting to serve food, but something about being brewery.

Serve the wine with cheese. Doesn’t even have to be fancy, just give everyone a slice of American.

Yeah, this didn't happen in Alabama. Plenty of mom and pop hardware stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, butchers, etc. stayed open here. The ones that closed were the small stores selling onn-essential items - clothing stores, beuty supply stores, furniture stores, etc. And guess what? The national brand name stores selling those same goods were also closed.

Under Phase 1 a brewery that also serves food can open but a distribution model type brewery that doesn't serve food can't open, for example Great Raft in Shreveport or Cane River Brewing in Natchitoches. What is the thought process behind this? Just doesn't make any sense.

Per JBE in his press conference yesterday, “well that’s obviously unfortunate”.

Word for word.

These places could get around the rules if they got inventive. Places some chips and candy on the shelf and a price. Now they serve food.

My understanding is that breweries are classified differently.

1. A brewpub can make their own beer and serve food but their beer can only be served onsite. They don't distribute.

2. Distribution type breweries can have a taproom but can't legally serve food. They can allow food trucks to setup.

So yeah, it would be nice if they could skirt around the Phase 1 restrictions by temporarily serving food but based on how they're classified they can't do that either.

It's all been a crock of shite. There were 50 cars in the parking lot at a furniture store down the street from me last Saturday.

The damn lingerie/dildo store was open too

That's how it works in Alabama.

I have no clue the logic on why #1 can open, while #2 cannot. I would agree it makes little to no sense.

Why? Why do they need to be classified differently? If I’m serving something, why can’t I serve another?

They want too open restaurants but not bars

So that’s the logic.

You can argue if it’s rational or not.

What is essential about lowe's? Why is alcohol essential and we have 30k car accidents a year in the US alone?

The only essential thing in life is food and water.

Everything else should be closed.
