Why do nearly all toilets take about 10 minutes to fill up after you flush it the first time? Can't you put a bigger valve on it and increase the flow rate?

Nope.
Should never have got rid of the three-gallon tank, either. I regret this almost daily.

You have to get the high volume toilets. They make that loud whoosh sound when flushed

You know what's terrifying? When you take that massive dump or perhaps used excess TP and the first flush renders a near clog where only partial contents are flushed and the water level begins rising to the top of the bowl. You look around and the bowl looks clear for the follow up flush but the water level is at such a point that if it isn't, you're going over the top. Meanwhile, you know someone is waiting to enter the bathroom behind you or maybe you are at a guest's house. That is the worst wait between flushes ever. Just watching the water level NOT go down as the toilet revamps for flush two.

I have a new toilet that fills in less than a minute. My only mistake was not paying attention to the seat height on the box.....I didnt know they made different seat heights. This one is taller than any other toilet I've sat on. I'm getting used to it but am still considering getting rid of it.

Or you could just flush mid movement. Even better is a hot water line hooked up to the toilet and a pre/mid movement flush, steams the sack and cheeks.

There's a rubber reducer up in the inlet valve on the toilet. Unscrew the hose to it and yank it out with needle nose pliers. It will make it a bit louder though.

I feel like a six year old sitting on those tall toilets.
I'm 5'11" - why is the tall toilet a thing?
