It looks like the Baton Rouge Zydeco will soon be replaced with another team. Most of the complaints I read about the Zydeco games was on the River Center. Why not build a small arena at Lamar Dixon and play there? You don’t need a huge arena for the crowd sizes in these leagues, so a 5,000 seat arena would be plenty big enough. LSU could also do club hockey and use it. The Birmingham SPHL team does not play in Birmingham. Their arena is in Pelham, one of the suburbs. The University of Alabama hockey team uses it too. The Pelham Arena seats 4,100.

They could take advantage of it and the expo area for a Christmas Village fair with ice skating. It is pretty convenient to get to and most of your fans probably already live south of Baton Rouge.

Ok, we’ll go offer to finance it and I’m sure AP will let you add one to the venue.

It would make more sense to move the hockey to where ice already exists instead of the other way around

A small ice rink would be great at lamar-dixon for the team to practice on and to host youth leagues. The games could continue to be at the river center

Just speaking from personal experience, playing hockey in old livestock barns is terrible for hockey. You saw a few of those in the old WPHL.

One of the worst places I ever played at was at the Heart of Texas Arena in Waco. Hated that place. Locker rooms were trailers out back, ice was crap, building fogged up. Doesn’t make for good hockey. But the fans of the Waco Wizards didn’t seem to notice or care
