It's completely bullshite that the cities cannot stop this homeless problem. They have a myriad of laws, especially zoning laws, that they can use.

If you move them from there then the homeless will just go somewhere else. They aren't suddenly going to stop having mental illness and get their shite together.

Unless you mean extermination, which is a much larger step.

Exactly. A substantial portion of the homeless population have a place they could live, but for whatever reason choose to not go there.

This is true. Back in April, the city put out hundreds of trailers to get them off the street. They stood, for the most part, half empty. They couldn't get these people out of the tents and into shelters. It's a problem all over the city and suburbs now. Utterly ridiculous. The city closed their mental institutions so now can' forcibly put them anywhere except jail. But then they are out the next day. They need to open up the institutions an force these people to get mental and addition help.

Some towns/cities have programs where they ship those with continuing issues elsewhere. NYC used to spend a bunch of money flying people to other cities.

The villages around here ship all their undesirables to the bigger cities where there are services.

Yes I do. My wife was a nurse in Torrance. Any homeless person that they treated couldn't wait to be on the streets again.

The hospital would try to put them in housing, but they wouldn't accept it because their disability checks would have to go towards living expenses. All they want to do with every penny is buy drugs.

Common thread is they all are ran by Democrats. There are parts of Midtown Houston that look like Haiti after a storm.

Same with Atlanta - when we drive through last summer it was like NOLA on steroids

I know that’s true but the constant Cali/west coast bashing here is silly. It’s kind of like making fun of your neighbor for having a dope fiend son while yours is addicted to Xanax.

Yeah but it’s a lot more fun to make fun of other people

The only difference between the Democrats in those areas are faux positions on social issues

Lina Hidalgo or LaToya aren’t much different than the creature in Chicago or the Los Angeles mayor

Curious...So did they travel around or stay in the same area the whole time? Did they meet on the homeless circuit or knew each other prior?

They were together prior. They got into meth and spiraled out of control. He says they traveled all over orange county. They actually separated for months at a time, but would always end up finding each other. He has some wild stories lol

I was in LA about 4 years ago, went downtown to the "fashion district", and I swear I thought I was walking thru a cruise ship port in Mexico.

I'm following that, but someone will have to foot the bill. It isn't like shipping them off is a solution, it's just moving the problem that will eventually return.

Yes, most do. They like it because they can panhandle for cash and do meth or heroin whenever they want. It’s why they get pissed if you offer something other than cash.

Homeless are a huge drain on a city, both in required services and the losses in sales tax and property tax revenue their presence causes.

Putting the homeless in the Ritz Carlton is an intentional move to drive people out. Trump did the same thing in NYC as highlighted in The Art Of The Deal.

My sister in law chose to be homeless - when we’d see her and ask her to come home she’d walk away with her homeless friends

She isn’t severely mentally ill - a little bit of a spoiled misfit and got caught up into prescription drugs for a while

I’ve spent a lot of time in rehabs both getting sober and staying sober and have met 40+ people like this. They talk about it like it was a phase and almost romanticize it a bit. It’s a lifestyle some choose over using tools they know exist that require them to sober.

In short, they’d rather be using and homeless than sober in a rehab, shelter, or halfway house.

Maybe it's the issue for other places. The West Coast politicians seem to embrace their impotency on this, it seems to me it would behoove other states to take advantage of it by just quietly rounding up their homeless and sending them there. It's not like they would notice the extra numbers at this point.

Hell, some of the dumbasses in Seattle and Portland would start demanding hotels let them stay in their rooms for free.
