I always see a "couple" who lives by me walking to the Jefferson. He's an older bald guy and his lady friend is skinny and is always in short shorts and high heels. I'll see them walking home sometimes and she's never not hammered.

Did we ever figure out if we know each other? I grew up on Floynell, too.

I've driven past both Jefferson Lounge and Cedarcrest Lounge hundreds of times and never realized either one existed.

I’ve always seen a car or two at the Jefferson and wondered how that place stayed in business but never stopped in. I heard that it was one of John Mahaffee (Channel 2 news) favorite spots up until he died. He was apparently a bad alcoholic. I saw Jim at the old Happy Note one time and he was pretty much passed out on the bar. I’d have had no idea it was him if the bartender hadn’t told me.

It burned down years ago. I don't think they rebuilt it.

I own several properties around that area and have heard the same thing from numerous tenants, including my property manager.

That was Fairway View. Yes it was a great hangout, and it burned down and was never rebuilt.

I’m guessing you both know the Torregrossa’s, LaPrairie’s and Roppolo’s. I’ve know them for 40 years.

And Mahaffey hung out there when Livvie Civelo was the bartender in the late 70’s early 80’s. She worked there, Westminster Club and the Tallawah Lounge and had a group that followed her wherever she was working. Big skinny blonde with a tit job that were as big as five gallon buckets. She died of breast cancer. He was one f the group as was Mike Rhodes the sports guy at channel 2.

The Patio is the shite. Love looking at all those old beer cans on the walls. Some are yellow from all the smoke they have been there so long.

And yes the Bloody's are the best around. Just call ahead if you want a gallon.

The setting there reminds me of the excellent zoning on Hickory Ave in Harahan. Dive bar right across the street from a day care.

Death's Waiting Room. That's more what I was guessing. Still don't know if I believe Samsons post about the hot bitches. Or Bushmasters post about night shift nurses at Cedarcrest
