My friend’s wife (from New Jersey), said that diversity was very important to her when looking for a place to live when moving away from the northeast, they stayed in New Orleans for a handful of years before moving to the diverse land of Denver

Denver is pretty diverse, just not nearly as poor as New Orleans. We have a house in Boulder. Not quite as diverse as Denver. To me that is what stuck out about the Deep South. It was the poverty. There’s pockets of something like it in Camden, NJ or Atlantic City, but nothing like I’ve seen in the south.

The diversity that she was referring to is only represented by 8% of the population in Denver

ETA: Denver is a literal diverse place, but it isn't a very "diverse" place in the sense that most people use that term in today's world.

Iowa vs Louisiana

This is the most accurate thing I saw on the internet all day yesterday.

University has always been very liberal, except when they make fun of everyone else for being bumpkins. In actuality they are the bumpkins. My sister, no pics pass away a few years ago, went there on a scholarship. She taught there for a few years. Spent time in Iowa City and it is a small rural town.

Lol. It is a well regarded public institution with exceptional programs in many fields. Nearly half of the student body is from out of state; 1/3 of the student body comes from the Chicago area. They have a satellite recruiting office in Beijing. Bumpkins.

Denver is pretty diverse

White people with BLM and "love is love" signs in their yard is not diversity. Having latinos working low wage jobs is not diversity. Homeless black dudes in the park that you buy a beer for is not diversity.

Now, if you consider diversity to include people that have top/bottom surgery, sure, then Denver is up there.

I agree, I don't like his politics but he isn't retarded. I was pointing out the dimwitted comment that Iowan(I guess) made about voting for Obama when hos state voted for him twice (and Dukakis).

I’ve never spent any time thinking about Iowa because well it’s Iowa, but the more y’all talk and the more we learn about the place it sounds like hell on earth.

Is it true y’all eat raw potatoes?

That's stupid as f*. If she didn't have a 2.0 minimum she wouldn't be playing. Academically ineligible they call it.

(BTW, I believe Iowa is actually an acronym for "I Only Want Anal." Or is it "I Only Want Animals"? Either one seems about right for them.)

Umm California has the most homeless people in the entire country.

Is that not poverty? They legit have the most impoverished people.

Plus your northern cities are full of fentanyl zombies.

One team looked pumped up to win, the other one looked like they thought they already had it won

I just assumed both pregame. If lsu is post, I bet it still looked like that before the game.

Well, I left just as soon as I could, and I’ll never go back, but quality of life there was good. Back in my era, they had a tier 1 public education system, you could leave the keys in your car with the windows down and your doors wide open. Iowa is a great place to be from, but those with ambition leave. In that regard, it is probably a lot like Louisiana without the high murder rate and extreme poverty.

The fact that a basically all white team with the best college player on it was playing an all black team was gonna make black folks not want Iowa to win.

Had it been a black versus black team and Clark was black, black folks would have been all about Caitlin Clark and her shooting ability

Caitlin Clark was getting praise from black folks all weekend. There is no race angle here. They lost the game fair and square. There is no conspiracy of them not being allowed to win because they had too many white players.

Now that is a melt of epic proportions. But then again I could also see that exact same post being made by a handful of posters over here as well.

Louisiana is no gem, but are people in the Midwest really on a high horse?
