The guardian: the week covid19 roared back in Europe

Whether described as a second wave, a continuation of the first or merely a rash of local outbreaks, the number of people found to be infected with Covid-19 in recent days across the continent has climbed to the highest levels in months.
Coronavirus clusters have sprung up in Spain, Belgium, Germany, France and Luxembourg, among others. This has often left politicians split on how to respond at a time when their voters are crying out for a holiday and their economies are desperate for the return of tourists.

Why is it so hard to understand that this virus is here and will be in a large way until a vaccine?

But what does the Decepticon say?
Posted on 8/1/20 at 3:37 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
We can beat it by hiding inside for two weeks!
Posted on 8/1/20 at 3:37 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
But TigerDumb in the Fauci thread said Europe was doing so great and we should have followed their approach

Half of the population have fragile feelings and can’t accept what the truth really is and that truth is exactly what you said. It isn’t going anywhere and as soon as people get out some off those people will get sick and sadly some will die. It sucks, but its the truth. Stop sugar coating it and just tell people what’s really going on, otherwise known as the truth.

But... but... they all wear masks! Stupid Americans have handled things all wrong that’s why Europe is a model for proper recovery and America is a world laughing stock!
How can this be?
How can this be?

Fauci said Europe beat it by shutting down 98% of their economy while the US only shut down 50%
Lol

I know you were being sarcastic, but Italy, Spain, UK, France, Belgium and Ireland All have MORE deaths per capita than the US. In what universe does that make the US a laughing stock?

Most of those countries were using crappy Chinese test kits. Some want nothing to do with China for anything now, including their below standard PPE.

Sarcasm. Making fun of the narrative that Europe handled things perfectly and somehow orange man single handed killed millions of American citizens.
California has been locked down to an extreme degree (masks, hazmat suits, face shields, etc.) long before southern states yet they’re also having a resurgence. Stupid.
It sucks, but viruses are gonna run their course. The notion that loose rags over peoples mouths and closing down the entire US economy will save us all is fricking ridiculous.

I just don’t care anymore. It’s a virus. It spreads between people. It kills a very small percentage of those that get infected with it and most barely even register they have it. It isn’t going anywhere, probably ever.
I’m ready to move on from this endless bloodletting of our livelihoods. This was past the point of absurdity months ago and I don’t think a word really exists to describe where we are now except for maybe suicidal.

It's a goddamn geographical audity, everywhere is two weeks behind Italy.
Even Italy is two weeks behind itself.

It is just mind blowing that this shite didn't end by memorial day. Whatever at least we know they will give up after November.

First world countries that have lots of old folks and fatasses were always going to have more deaths, it is silly to compare the numbers between them.

It is what we need to do but cant because of all the stupid white trash mother frickers that think they are hero's for being assholes.
It really is simple
If you are in private or distanced from those who need protecting don't wear a mask, if you are in public space such as a grocery store do it for those who need protection. If people could grasp this and stop trying to be facebook famous we could all get back to some semblance of normal.
