Made it through about 4 hours ago. Looked like they were closing the interstate around Jennings behind me basically. Don't know the state of it now.
Ok thanks. I guess I'll wait it out over here just worried because I need to be in Lafayette around noon tomorrow to meet with someone and it looks like it may be even worse then.

EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE – Interstate 12 eastbound is closed in both directions from Airline Highway in East Baton Rouge Parish to US 190 in St. Tammany Parish due to high water. I-12 westbound traffic is being diverted to southbound US 190 to the Causeway Bridge. Tolls are temporarily suspended.
Alternate routes:
• I-12 westbound should take I-59 north to I-20
• I-12 eastbound should take US 61 south to I-10 east
• If possible travelers should take I-20 to travel through Louisiana.

Shouldn't be any real danger of flooding near Sherwood and I-12, should there?

AFB just showed a map from Ascension Parish... the whole town of Sorrento is expected to have at least moderate flooding

16 feet Homes along Highland Road and Burbank Drive will be flooded. Both streets will be impassable. Major roads will be impassable. Access to property along the river is cut off. Homes along Kendalwood Road that are not elevated will be flooded. Extensive backwater flooding will occur along Bayou Fountain and Bayou Manchac
As in down burbank from bluebonnet to staring? That part of bayou fountain is going to flood?

From the WAFB
"LIVINGSTON PARISH - First responders are now searching for four missing boys in Livingston Parish.
The boys, aged between 7 and 13, were last seen in a yellow kayak floating on Dunn Road in Livingston parish early Saturday evening.
More details are expected."

My parents live near Old Hammond and ONeal. They were evacuated out to family today. My dad had to park his truck as high up as he could and leave it there. They live in a mobile home community.....my mom said some of the trailers in much lower parts of the community were looking very close to taking in water.
