I'm assuming the curfew is still in effect? I'm not getting back from New Orleans until about 11:30. How problematic is that? How strict are they on it? Not looking to get hassled too bad.
I believe you're allowed to travel for work. I drove past lots of cops from BR to NO at 4:30 this morning and they didn't bother me.

Just seeing this but you would have been SOL. I managed to take 14 thru Abbeville home a few hours after that post but hit high water the whole way. By Saturday afternoon there was no way a car was getting to Iberia Parish from Lafayette or Vermillion parishes.

Damn. Wish I would have seen this before I traversed Highway 14 thru high water at 4AM. Made it back safely somehow. Thanks tho!

Which areas are still in danger?
Per the Ascension authorities....anyone in low lying areas near waterways are still in danger. If water is rising around you there could still be trouble.
The water levels are going down pretty consistently which is good though.
As an example:

It's storming hard right now. Southeast EBR can't take too much water because every creek and bayou in the area is still up to the road where it crosses.

Our power is out from this storm in the old Jefferson area. Wtf

I'm hearing around 2" of rainfall possible by tonight in an area that clearly doesn't need it.

Crazy to think that EBR schools are really trying to start school Monday for employees and students Wednesday. With lack of housing, daycares and other things I think they are rushing this.

Bout to come down...predicting bad flooding

LSU should be fully open and classes start Monday as well. From what I've heard not many of the employees have been back to work. Although I think they are still off unless you are involved with intercession courses.

Our street is already fully submerged and this kind of rain wouldn't usually do that. The ground isn't absorbing a thing.

The other half of the coin is the people who are unaffected personally and need to go back to work.

I noticed southdowns being flooded as well and it's not usually after a rainfall like that

Water has nowhere to go right now. Everything that any kind of water can drain into is already full.
Just hope this doesn't dump too much water. Should drain quicker than the last few days.

What is protocol/ best practice to go about moving a vehicle from a commercial parking lot? I am moving a temporary modular office in a parking lot for an essential business on Friday morning and need to move two vehicles that were flooded.

You can tow them. You can be an a-hole and have them impounded. Or just have them moved to a location somewhere else on the property until the owners (or their insurance company) are able to claim them.
