Tell me what house and I could possibly give you a little more specific information. Landmarks will suffice if you'd like to keep your anonymity.

Not sure what you mean by "local drainage issues" we are not talking just about sewer and ditches here. These are major waterways and do come under their jurisdiction. Not trying to be an a$$.

They consider "major waterways" to be navigable with commerce and federally authorized (e.g. Mississippi, Atchafalaya, Intracostal, Houma Nav). Amite is not that. Now, there is precedent for them getting involved in major drainage projects such as the SELA program after the May '95 flood in Nola or their limited involvement with the Comite (mostly permitting) but there is no current ongoing project/program for the Amite and its basin; hence they have no jurisdiction over this flood, outside of permitting new projects, presently unless congress instructs them to take over via legislation.

i want to send a special thanks to the people that contribute to this thread. After getting turned away at Lamar Dixon, we somehow ended up at Healing life church in Denham Springs and were able to turn out around 1000 meals.

Hi Guys. I don't know the area well, but sounds like y'all are close to S Sanctuary in Gonzales. Near the little school and definitely near Pupera (off of it). Any news there? Someone evacuated to our house & would love news. Thanks!

the deer will be fine by the way
coyotes will get a few and the water will get a few but once the water recedes they'll get back to being deer

How are things looking at 22 and Fontenot Road, Mom?

I know Fontenot road has flooding. I think it was 18" in my former teacher's house. My daughter has a student down there with flooding also.

Atmosphere Aerial had some aerial video around the Hwy 22/429 intersection. I didn't watch the whole thing but they may have flown in the direction you're interested in.

There videos are posted on their facebook page. They may have a website too.

This is true, however you have likely lost an entire crop of fawns due to this. Sure, there will be some that survive - but the majority will not in the affected areas. Those fawns this time of year just aren't mobile enough to escape the rising water.
