Really wish google earth would update NOW !

I am sure if you know how Google Earth works or you were just saying that but pretty much every image on there is over a year old and they won't use images from during a flood when they update next since it doesn't accurately represent the location.

They updated satellite images for Katrina, but I don't think it was done right away.

Rough estimate is around 3-4 am from the projections.

May be sooner.

Thankfully she is ok, but she's been a nervous wreck.

That's my dad as well. How many people in that community do you think had flood insurance?

A piece of good news....I FINALLY heard from my family. My mom, dad, and my two younger siblings(the mentally challenged ones) are still ok at my aunt and uncle's home in the Rose Hill subdivision(it's off Tigerbend near Elliot). If you have friends or family in that subdivision....they are not flooded. No homes have water in them. They are just stranded for now...cannot leave. They don't have power or water either.

I-12 is now open between I-55 (Hammond) and US 190 (Covington) in both directions.

Use caution and remain vigilant for traffic congestion.

How bad do you think the flooding will get in prairieville and Gonzales over the next couple of days? All this footage of flooding in BR that I never imagined has me a little concerned.

I would think maybe the majority didn't. My mom didn't think she had it, but I went through all her paperwork she brought with her, and thankfully she does have it. You could see the weight lifted off her shoulders when I told her she had it. She's just a little emotional about some of the things that can't be replaced like pictures and some stuff she had of mine from when I was younger. I had some stuff from high school over there and some pictures of when my son was younger.

Yes. Our house flooded. We were lucky to get out before the neighborhood roads prevented us from doing so. Your posts were the only early warning we had. We did not expect to flood. Without your advice, we would've been trapped.
