Does anyone know if Brian Harris Chevrolet on Florida is flooded? My office is right by there. I tried to go, but Florida is closed at North Little John.

Someone posted these pics from Florida & Flannery a while ago.

Not really late. Requires governor's request to FEMA then recommendation to President. Not really much that can be done by the feds the first few days of any disaster.

Does anyone know how to find out how high the New River canal in St Amant is supposed to get?

I'm not sure but they are saying if you are west of 431 you are safer than east of 431. My daughter lives not even 1/10 mile west of 431 on New River. Her house is a couple feet off the ground and I feel like she is safe from flooding.

Brother in St. Amant on BECO road and water rising fast. He is 3 feet above 100 mark and will more than likely get water in house.

Water 3 inches from crossing road at intersection on hwy 22 and 16 in Head of Island. Diversion canal flooding well above 1983 level right now.

WAFB said about 30 minutes ago that Bayou Manchac may rise a little more
Also said that Bayou Fountain may rise a little more but should be done/settled by early morning tomorrow
Said Monday afternoon, attention will turn to Port Vincent and French Settlement

so is it sounding like this might not be as bad there as they thought?

Gotcha. So far I am hearing Gold Place Road is in trouble with rising water. I know Harry Savoy Road is now a river.

I just want to check in and say that y'all are saying a lot about your community, your character to help others, and the whole state of LA. You've been faced with multiple challenges recently and you're showing that y'all are good folk. My prayers are with you.

That's where my mom lives. We were able to get her out yesterday morning before it got too high for my dad's truck. Thankfully she is ok, but she's been a nervous wreck.

Well it's about fricking time. The lack of national coverage on this makes me upset.

It didn't happen to New Orleans and a preferred victim group, so it is a non story.

I realize that. Still takes formal request to FEMA, etc. 48 hours for a federal action seems pretty damn quick to me. Would be interesting to know what the mean federal disaster declaration period is.
