Has the Amite crested? Also, where do I look up information like that?
Looks close, but not quite. Here you go:
NWS Amite River

If this is accurate, Claycut hasn't crested yet either?
The only river in the Baton Rouge area that has been called crested is the Comite in Central. Even that only went down .1 of an inch

Bayou Fountain runs next to University Villas on Burbank between Staring and Lee.
Does anyone have any updates as to the condition of the water in that area. Is it rising?
I'm next door to that in Magnolia Lakes. The water has been near the "lip" inside the storm drains since yesterday morning. Today it is covering the "lip" but not onto the street yet.
This was taken this morning of lake in the back that is connected to bayou fountain.
The homes along the tree line are in Meadowbend, those streets have been covered since Friday evening/Saturday morning.
The lake has risen a few inches since yesterday morning.
I've got about 4 feet from the level of the lake to the level of my homes foundation. Praying it doesn't rise by that level.

If you can make it over to woodland ridge, it would be much appreciated

Glad to here. We are good out here. Had about two feet of water near the house and we're lucky to have some high ground to park the cars. Very very lucky considering all the horrible things that have happened to others. This is just beyond horrible.

As high as Manchac is, I suspect Ward and Fountain are already backflowing.
I have property in the back of Santa Maria abutting Wards Creek. Water flowing into street (from drains) leading to the Charlestown area of the subdivision. No water in homes (yet), but folks report precipitous rise overnight (I live in a different subdivision currently)
? Ward Creek back flowing
Thanks for the helpful posts/drainage breakdown

This says a lot. Lots of places along the Bayou Fountain system are not draining and as you say, rising. I'm watching the flood gauges "downstream" and they are going up, eventually the backflowing that is going on in Claycut will reach these points.

We should have our 11:00 gauge readings at any time along Bayou Fountain/Ward Creek system.
Active flooding moving up Clay Cut and Jones Creek right now, I'd be very careful in these regions, tons of active rising water situations going on as you get closer to the Amite on these creeks.
