Just found out that, while I'm not in a flood zone, my elevation is only 16.5 ft.
Hope that Bayou Fountain behaves! We just moved into this home. :/

As high as Manchac is, I suspect Ward and Fountain are already backflowing.

Any way to get to Sherwood @ Goodwood? Elderly mother and grandmother need second evac. Thank you.
With a boat. That area is 3-4 feet underwater and rising

Where is that, Hu?
Also, I am waiting... in 5 minutes we should have updates on several gauges, especially the Bayou Fountain ones.

I have a co-worker in Albany that lost everything. He said 80% of the houses were a total loss. Heartbreaking. He was not in a flood zone and didn't have flood insurance. Horrible.

About 30 minutes ago, I put eyes on Bayou Fountain at the entrance to Lakes at Highland. It looked stagnant and about 8-10 feet from the bottom of the bridge there.

Jones Creek has NOT crested yet - there are active flooding situations still occuring downstream (now upstream with backflow) of you, with increasing water levels.
If this is accurate, Claycut hasn't crested yet either?

That's an important location to keep eyes on, please keep us updated.
I am talking about well closer to the Amite though, where gauges are rising.

I'm thinking it's cresting now. Water isn't flowing really, just sitting there. Drainage ditch is backing up causing flooding

Hey everyone I have family in New Orleans, Old Metairie and downtown CBD, what is the status at
these locations?
No one is picking up their phone.
It's fine. It's not even raining.

Absolutely has not. There are tons of locations along Claycut with rising water right now.
Listent to the scanner to hear about it!
