Dawson Creek spilling over maybe?

This is scary for the Highland/Burbank area if this is already happening.

No way it's happening already.

Edit: Has to be overflow from the lakes. I refuse to believe we're seeing that level of backflow from Dawson /right now/

If true, this is scary.

Can you confirm? Where did you hear this?

Will:
I have friends who live there. I don't know the name of their street. They evacuated yesterday. They had to be taken out by boat.

I saw a couple of pics posted on FB from when they left. The lake behind their house had come up over their swimming pool and was at their back door. Water from the street was at their front door. I think the pics were taken mid/late morning or very early afternoon. Hope this info helps.

I can't believe how horrible this seems to be from reading all of the stories on here and watching WAFB. What is fricked up is I would have no idea what is going on if I wasn't on this site, the MSM hasn't made a peep about it. On CNN.com, MSNBC.com, FoxNews.com there there is nothing.....it is unreal.

Only posts I'm seeing about this on fb is people affected by it. Not even the weather channel has anything on it.

Reading all these post I feel so helpless. Prayers sent your way. I'm in ascension and by one of the bayou's. I'm pretty good here. Wish I had a truck and boat.

Have friend who lives in Summerwood off of Burbank and between Burbank and Highland, who is out of town and asking us to check on home. Apparently, Bayou Fountain runs behind the subdivision.

Anyone have any idea about this neighborhood. Is it a risk for flooding with Bayou Fountain?

East Baton Rouge Parish public works or engineer should be all over this. Whoever handles the drainage in the parish (is it outsourced to a private firm?) should be telling people about this backflow situation.

I'm a civil engineer in Houston and figured out this would happen within minutes yesterday morning by just looking at the forecasted crest levels and flood maps. Is no one monitoring this? Checking the levels, flow direction of the water, and how far it rises? Someone should be using Jones Creek as an example to let everyone know what's going to happen with Clay Cut and ultimately Manchac, Ward's Creek, etc.

All I can do is sit here and look at elevation maps and guess how high it will go (as high as the crest elevation where the tributary meets the Amite?). Someone in EBR should have models or studies that are more complex and detailed, and they should be explaining this to everyone.

Have the pumps been shut down in AP? Water behind my place is stagnant.

Weather channel in the breakfast area of my hotel is covering it wall to wall.
Went to CNNs website and it barely had anything on it, they would rather cover their talking points of BLM, police suck, trump is the devil.
I hate that I even gave them a page view.

Runnels is done per Facebook. Friends with some people that went there.

Water was up to the roofs and whole school was flooded out, and this was last night.

Chadsford looked great yesterday evening.

Edit. I now see others are saying it may be under?

The flood from March had Manchac up to the back of my new neighborhood (HOO shoo too), and the launch is a good .75 miles away. My neighbor said he was able drive all the way to the launch yesterday, so hoping it stays put.

For Bayou Manchac, Bayou Fountain, Ward's Creek watersheds, the magic number is 21.5, based off of the forecasted crest for Amite @ Manchac Point. If you're above that you're good (if no additional rain). If not, you still may be ok, but there's really no way to determine the peak elevations and timing given the complex dynamics of the backwater flow with all the variables.
