Any way for my girlfriend to get from Walker to Covington?
No. No vehicles allowed in LP except emergency vehicles. Just announced by the Sheriff.

Exactly. I'm in DC and there's nothing on the news and the weather channel is talking more about the 95 degree temp in Philly. It's ridiculous

Too busy busting trumps chops.

If anyone is or has family in Sherwood or surrounding areas, GET THEM OUT NOW.
The water is backflowing from all drainage canals, rising fast and power is out.
Went to check on my grandmother and uncle and had to wade through 4 feet water to get to them.
They are evacuating old Hammond down towards Sherwood and back from flannery/sharp area towards Sherwood.
Sherwood is 3-4 foot underwater from Florida to major oak and rising.

I can't believe how horrible this seems to be from reading all of the stories on here and watching WAFB. What is fricked up is I would have no idea what is going on if I wasn't on this site, the MSM hasn't made a peep about it. On CNN.com, MSNBC.com, FoxNews.com there there is nothing.....it is unreal.
My presidential vote goes for the first candidate who acknowledges this disaster! (please be GJ!)

PER FD: Water has crossed Dogwood Ave and is headed towards Downtown.

I believe Chadsford was taking on water from a poster here last night/early this morning.

Agreed.

All water is backflowing and pushing back reverse through drainage systems throughout the entire city and surrounding areas

I guess I am just looking for anything positive but the way that line of storms hitting Baton Rouge dissipated was miraculous.

Dixie has insurance, they have to have inventory insurance for their finance company. But still, they now have no inventory and people are going to need to buy campers, etc. they at least have inventory at their Breaux Bridge and Defuniak Springs locations

Trying to get my parents out of white oak. Anyone know if cutting through Shenandoah, maybe Chadsford is clear? Help is much appreciated.
If you can somehow cut through near Appomatox, and get to Shenandoah Ave, it leads out to Jones Creek Rd. all clear, and an hour ago, you could even get to Coursey and head west.
Chadsford is probably under and not passable. Try to head south of Chadsford as far as you can, them, head west and get to Shenandoah ave.
