Gulf Coast Weather 12 mins · Prairieville towards Galvez: Flood waters rising rapidly. Some homes with water inside.
Any specifics on what subdivisions are being affected?

I wouldn't take any chances being that close to Bayou Manchac. Gambling with his life if he doesn't.

Same stupid question, two days later. Do I stay put in Florida? My husband and I have to be back at work tomorrow, but I'm guessing that won't matter. Need to ask this hotel if we can get another night or should we try to come back?
We are living in a rental home in prairieville right now, hoping it's ok and as of yesterday morning, it was fine. Now where we are building, I'm very concerned.

You'd be a fool to leave where you are. You will unlikely even make it to your home due to road closures, and you will be stuck in traffic or looking for a hotel here. Nobody is working tomorrow or Tuesday most likely.

There is no way I would even consider coming back to BR until the water goes down.

I do not know specifically which area is flooded. This was posted by a guy I went to high school with and he lives in that neighborhood.
He is someone that I would trusted (back in high school) in terms of not embellishing what he sees.

Thanks, I figured that was the right answer but had to ask before we both call our bosses to let them know. And I need to get a bigger hotel room because the walls are closing in on me with a crazy three year old. Lol

Im in Florida too. Spoke to my dad in oak hills. Said all is fine and not to worry, there's nothing much you can do. You may just want to stay another night.
