I'm in mandeville and have a shallow draft boat. If anyone needs help (if I can get to you), let me know. Or, if anyone knows where boats are needed or being staged, let me know.

Do you kill the power to your house when you leave or leave on so ac can run as long as possible to prevent mold etc (until Mother Nature kills power)?

My home is right off of Goodwood across from Sherwood Middle Magnet. There was no water on the streets when I evacuated except when I turned down Sherwood and had to make a quick detour to a side street as rushing waters greeted me.

It sucks. My house isn't in a flood zone and I'm just hoping its high enough at this point.

Got on I-10 west of Houston. Some parts of the highway there were starting to collect water. I stayed middle lane because at some spots there was water on the furthest right lane. The highway wasn't bad in Louisiana from about 10:30 pm until 2:30 except for about 10-15 miles west of Lafayette where water was in one lane and that lane was closed. The water was high in a number of spots but not on the road.

Can anyone give me a report on Webb park area, please?

I'm out of town on vacation and worried sick about all of this. I'm feeling guilty I'm not there to help.

Ok per weather channel bayou fountain flood stage is 14 and specifically named burbank and Highland area that will flood soon due to backwater. It's not if anyone for people in the area. I did not think it would come to this. Please prepare if you are in the area and stay safe.

quote:

Impact... at 14.0 feet... backwater flooding along bayou Manchac and
Bayou Fountain will flood Highland Road and Burbank drive in
places. Many homes will be threatened along the bayous from their
Amite river outlets upstream to the lsu Campus.

Currently the bayou in this area is at 13.70

On a side note I am available for boat rescues if any one needs a crewman

Yes very quick. Faster than 1 ft an hour. I have a house full of people I took in that no longer have homes or vehicles. I have no idea what I'm going to do with them.

I have family in Walker. Waze says I can get to them by crossing Amite on 42. Does anyone have any info on that route??
